You know we should do something in California but in the Central Coast. I am saying this only because you would be able to get Norcal and Socal together better because both would be driving Equal distance. The Central Coast is the middle point of California. I will try to post some mileage and map to show you what I mean. The turn out I would imagin would be much greater.

'04 Silverado Z71 - sold all my Benzes and need another!
A post above by a NorCal member says if we have the meet down here, they will come. I just think it needs to be planned somewhere, have some sponsers show up and no worries, everyone will come from everywhere!

I sent Carlos the details of what I thought would be a good idea....
The AMG Private Lounge members on the East pulled off a successful 2 day event which included drag racing, tech session with AMG/MB employees and AMG had the SLK Black series on hand. I was inspired by Chappy and received some feedback on how to pursue something on the West. I did some leg work into the cost and location of doing a 2 day event in CA and to see if we could also get some cars (not to drive) for show and personnel for a Q&A/Tech Session and the answer was yes. Before I said anything I wanted to contact folks like Carlos who have coordinated successfull events.
Dates would be June 1st/June 2nd if we did a drag strip event or June 2nd & June 3rd if we did a 1.3-1.5 Autocross/Road Course event. Cost for the drag event would be no more than $200 and that is if only about 50 people are interested cost of the AutoCross/Road Course would be around $300 with 50 people. Cost is reduced with more people who register.
General idea is day one would be the track event and then day two would be the "Meet" day with the addition of some nice AMG cars, awards lunch and Q&A/Tech Session with folks from MBUSA/AMG. This would only be open to MB owners and mostly likely an early registration for AMG PL and MBCA members.
What is the general feedback for this type of event. Would people drive from NoCal, AZ and NV? Is the cost reasonable/acceptable for a two day event? If there is interest I will let everyone know the locations of the track event.

Out Of Control!
You should create a seperate thread for this and see what the feedback would be like. Should be a good event if you get enough interests/replies.

ok,
i'm back from a special assignment in good ol' Mexico...
looks like May 12th ROSE BOWL is the preferred choice.
Sounds great... however,
I have absolutely no one (repeat NO ONE) helping me on this,
so no sponsors, no goodies, no nothing.... I can't do this on my own.
just a meet & greet so far... is everyone still OK with that ???
if so I can go ahead and set up for the 12th @ the Rose Bowl,
otherwise see you in July for the San Diego Summer Meet.

ok....
i will get this thread closed up soon,
looks like May 12th it is @ the ROSE BOWL.
Don't expect too many extra perks or events...
Beemaze, If we can get RUSNAK that would be great !
ChrisDPham, If we can get HOI that would be great !
anyone else, that can pimp some MB Dealerships (Laguna Niguel, Fletcher Jones, CalStar, Penske, BevHills, Long Beach, Anaheim Hills, etc...), or know owners with exotic MBs (CLK-DTM, SLRs, Maybachs, vintage/classics, UNIMOGs, SMARTs, etc...) please start greasing the skids, to get them to participate. Don't know if the CLASSIC CENTER would get up to Pasadena for this one. How about evosport !!????
In the meantime, anyone else that can help out, please e-mail me or PM.
Will start a separate STICKY Thread to get the Attendance List and Details posted.
