weather really killed it for me, when I arrived there was a lot of ash and my gf didnt wanna stick around. Was only there for a few mins, but it seemed like a lot of fun. Was a good turn out, never been to an all benz meet...so it was not bad at all.

I saw a 2 c63's and 1 c350 that I liked, so was not bad at all. Cant wait for pics! I doubt anyone noticed me coming in and leaving hehe

I had to drive westward through La Habra, through Whittier, then north to Hacienda Heights, then east through La Puente and Rowland Heights. 4 hrs and 45 min later and I'm home.....

I think it's stupid to close the entire freeway, it ruins everybody's night. They should just close a few lanes during an emergency, like the HOV lane. Make the #1 and #2 HOV lanes only available to emergency vehicles, and leave the rightmost lanes to other vehicles.

I just need to vent.... Now the fire is knocking at my neighborhood's door......
That is messed up man...4 hours and 45 mins sitting in traffic! Sorry dude, I have to deal with that too! I'm from the Valley, I hav e to take the 605 and it's a parking lot!

I left around 2pm and didn't get home till 8pm due to freeway closures. And roadside closures.
I went the 91 and was closed so went to 57 closed they told us to exit at
Lambert, then when I exited Lambert on Brea that was where the fire was. So all roads where closed going towards Chino Hills. So I was stuck in Brea. Finally took 57-5-91w-605-60. Drove around 6 hours just to get home. That was a mess.

You're gonna have to wait for mig888 for the good pics, but these are not that bad considering they're from my 3.2mp phone camera:

The event was cool. Nice seeing everyone again.

Crazy fires though. It took me 5 hours to get home. The 57 and 91 freeways were both closed. I left at 2:30 pm and got back to my area around 7:30 pm. Worst traffic I've ever experienced. I hope everyone is ok.

I thought the meet went well (mad props to Carlos and Mark), all things considered, it took me a long long time to get home since my house was in Anaheim Hills but Brandons Iphone gave us the residential shortcut for the win!!!

Thanks also to Ed from HMS and Serge from Hyevon for donating the cool prizes along with Trizzle and Aneous (sp?) Oil.

The house was saved but not others and the view from backyard against the hills and Yorba was scary cool and sad at the same time with flames and glowing red clouds. The dealer down the street (Honda) supposedly burned down too. Some cops told us that we couldnt come back till 8am and we just laughed and the Iphone did the magic as we snuck thru all the 3-4mm dollar homes in the Orange Park Acres area to find the backroads to Anaheim HIlls. Thanks again to James and Brandon for taking me home.

A few pics from the other side:

Didn't Make it

you guys think you have it bad i drove from sacramento all the way down to LA only to find out that the freeways were closed. Then i drove thru the city for about 2hrs looking for another way to get on the fwy then got on 14 to LA, and thouht i was home free, about 10 min later they shut that one down to. So then i had to find my way back to I-5 north to get on only to drive back to sacramento a total of 12hrs on the road. Wish i could have been there sounds like it was alot of fun maybe some other time. But i have to say this the MB drove like a champ handles really well and got alot of looks from passers by(when they could pass) just sucked cleaning the car at the gas stations bugs galore, but the front got a bath

Glad to know that your home was ok. The conditions were bad, but it did make for a cool photo shoot. I like the orange sun backdrop. Pyrun always does an awesome job with the pictures.

I always knew LA was going to hell.....

Holy crap! Wow, the sky looks like one of those apocalyptic scenes in a movie.
(Deep announcer voice....)
"It was the end of days, but they weren't giving up their luxury cars..."

I was bummed I didn't go this year, but the weather up here has been rainy, but this weekend, like 80 degrees beach weather.
Guess you guys didn't get that rain.
Sorry for the guy coming from Sac..wow.
I went last year, and people thought I was nuts, and thats another hour or 2 up the road from me. (Depending on speed)

Sounds like a real mess.
How about another meet in April? And where beer is allowed...
I'd hate to drive that far and not be allowed to drink a damn beer.
Doesn't look like not too many people made it....

And what's this whole no guns thing? On a military base?
I'd need mine to fend off the flesh eating zombies soon to show up
in this photo....

It's probably me, but the color is definitely more "poppy" on my end. Probably some ****ed up color profiles I'm using.

More soon =)

is it just me or did the weather make for unique as hell shots?

It was pretty bad when we were out there, but these are great photos! I like the smoky/gloomy background :3

Yep, sadly, it does, since the ashes hide the sun's harshness... it gave off a dusk/sunset look ALL day. And a very strange, cloudy background :\. Traffic, on the other hand, was very much FTL.

Red face A few pics

I would have taken more, but the smoke was too much for me. It made for some cool pics, but I was sick and now I feel much worse...The wife has asthma, so she didn't want to stay outdoors too long either. Anyways, it was all for a worthy cause!

I counted a little over 90 people/cars in total.

Apparently the bad weather set off alot of people from going. =|

Well, not just that. The traffic was horrible on some areas, and people had to get back to ensure their homes were safe as well. So it wasn't ideal for timely arrivals.

Carlos, the organizer, said he counted maybe 130 cars.
