Saespyder : in all seriousness, this has become a meeting of friends who at one time drove MB's. A few of us dont anymore but we all look forward to seeing each other 1-2 times (sometimes more) a year.
When I drove a bennz, it was a 230 and they let me show up. You'll enjoy these guys. They are not the A-holes some snobby owners (and I'm not referring to only Benz owners,so no flamin') can be. Come and enjoy yourself
See all you hammerheads on the 11th. If you guys are really the gentlemen I think you are, you'd save a spot for my girly car

Sounds like a great time, even if you're bringing the girly car.

I think we should elaborate on the exact location, as 'second lot' is not that obvious. I'm not sure there are public grills over there, so I'll bring mine.

For your consideration:

Map of Roosevelt Park

To orient everyone, if you come from Rte. 1, you will be going north on Parsonage Road towards the park. You will then make a left onto Roosevelt Drive (if you are going from another entrance point, adjust what I am saying).

To your right will be the gazebo and ice rink, followed by the first parking lot (Grove #1).

My assumption now is that we are talking about the parking lot after Grove #1 and not Grove #2, which is further down Roosevelt. What I am talking about is labeled "Open Grove" right after #1, and across from the Kiddie Keep Well Camp (Rick, are you allowed within 200 yards of that area?). I think there are some grills; there are obviously picnic tables as indicated.

I might be in the area this coming weekend, and see if there are in fact grills there. However, if someone else who's local to the park would check and post it here, it would be much appreciated.

Is everyone on the same page now (unless I've confused you)?

Where are your priorities? You aren't the attending doctor. Your role ended happily 9 months ago. Now, you'd just be standing around for no particular reason.

Where are you auto-x'ing? I'm outside Philly myself and wasn't planning on attending the Jersey leg of the trip (mainly due to distance), but if I could come check out some racing and then have someone to follow to the event............just maybe.

Timing:
Event starts at 1, which means that I get there around 12:45 to start setting the grill up.

One person arrives at 1:45.

A couple of other people arrive 2:30 or so.

We start cooking the food. (assuming no rain - big assumption, with our track record)

2:45 the yellowjackets descend on our group.

3:00 we eat the food, laugh about whatever Chucky brought.

3:30 check out cars, do a comparison to see whose is the least modded.

4:00 - 5:00 last offenders leave.

6:30 read on this thread how someone was cruising around the park for 2 hours and didn't see anyone.

That's about how it goes...

OK.
That's the official version.
For our wifes/girlfriends to read (whoops, just spilled the beans).
What is the unofficial one?
What happens after 5:00 pm?

sign me up as always.. those Jersey meets are the best. Let's hope for less saliva this time around.

I'll bring the usual fresh salsa and the corn nachos that hungry women can help themselves to.

I'll bring some meat for the grill also.

Maybe since it's cold there will be less people at the park and we can park semi-close to each other since it is a meet.

Anyone from LI/BK want to roll together? I drive the speed limit.

I tried to make a clear map using Mapquest overheads, but my technical skills failed. Is there any way to make a clear trail from Route 1 to the second lot?
