November 21, 2009 Northern California SLK Enthusiasts Meet & Drive
Mercedes-Benz SLK roadster owners are invited to meet rain or shine Saturday, November 21, 2009 for display of their cars at 10:30 A.M. at Bernal Plaza, 109 Bernal Road, South San Jose in the shopping center parking lot behind Chase Bank (formerly Washington Mutual):http://maps.google.com/maps?q=109+Be...95119&t=h&z=16
We will leave around 11:30 on a California back roads drive down through the hills below San Jose to San Juan Bautista. We will have a couple of stops, including one at the Boot Hill Cemetery in San Juan Bautista. Some of the Breen Family members (Donner Party 1846-1847 Survivors) are buried here. A personal short verbal history lesson will be given by a descendant or spouse of one.We will then head over for a nice lunch at Jardines de San Juan Mexican Garden Restaurant, 115 3rd Street. 831-623-4466:

Parking in front will be difficult. Behind restaurant on 4th street might be better.
After lunch there can be a brief walking tour of the main plaza and view of Mission San Juan Bautista, if any are interested. Also, a Donner Party descendant is available to act as a guide and answer questions.
Join us for the meet, the drive, the meet & drive, or the meet, drive & lunch.
On drive day, you can call 925-519-3121 or 408-828-4968.
The Northern California SLK Enthusiasts had yet another great California drive November 21, 2009. We met in San Jose, then drove down south and up over Hecker Pass and across to San Juan Bautista where we got a history lesson on the Donner Party. Then it was on to Jardines de San Juan Bautista for lunch.
