As for finding fish - it didnt look like anyone else was shouting with success - is a fish finder always accurate?
As accurate as hooker's pregnancy tests

Yeah, I'm all for a different captain.

a. We stayed on that first spot for over 2 1/2 hours without one nibble. Give me a break.
b. 4 hours in we pull in a striper and the mate says it is 28" and Capt Dave said from upstairs move the head to the left and the count went to 27.75 and he insisted on throwing it back. I have NEVEr seen that one before.
c. I prefer trawling for stripers, you tend to do much better....
d. The cabin really stinks now....

I agree with everything said. I definitely didn't like either of the Dave's attitudes. Even though we were the customers, I felt like we were inconveniencing them. A good captain that actually cares about the trip will put you on the fish no matter what. It's as simple as that.

I would have liked to trawl and move more frequently, but honestly with fuel prices the way they are, you seldom find a boat willing to do either unless you spend a lot of money. Every time they fire up the engines they are cutting into their margins and of course they want to do as little of that as possible. It's sad, but is definitely becoming pretty common.

Yea - that was outrageous.

I chickened out on asking the captain how they would get caught if we took that home with us? Who enforces the 28" law? Do they stand with rulers at the dock? I never really understood this. I am not a fisherman =)

Didn't you catch a Striper?
d. The cabin really stinks now....
I wonder why!

I guess you'd be safe - no one has ever gotten pregnant from bukakke.
