Best Discount for MB Extended Warranty

Back on topic, I recollect somewhere on the forum a member (around 4-8 months ago) said they got a better ELW price from a dealer in New Mexico vs Jeff Jackson. I can't find that thread anymore. I'm not in the market for an ELW but I thought it should be posted in this ridiculously long thread.

What are the latest rules for buying extended warranties on used cars? I am purchasing a used Benz from a non-MB dealership. The car has a few months of factory warranty left (and 1 year CPO, but from what I understand, I lose that)
I reached out to Jeff, like people here suggested, but he just sent me some options for a 3rd party warranty and stopped responding.
Reached out to another guy in WA, but he said that MB extended warranty is only offered on used cars which are sold by an MB dealer and have remaining factory warranty.
Is 3rd party the only option under these circumstances?

i'm here in Aug '24 looking for an update on this. just trying to do my research before calling/emailing Jeff.

fugg.... this is where i'm @ right now. looking at a 21 gle 53 that's still under factory coverage, but at a used car lot. in the past, i was told, albeit incorrectly by all local dealerships, that any MB that hit a used car lot or auction was NOT qualified for an ELW through MB. back then (2021) I found out from Jeff that, although that's often recited by dealership finance, sales and management staff, as if it's dogma, it was incorrect....@ least when i bought from jeff back in '21. Jeff said that, as long as the MB program accepts the VIN of the vehicle, he can sell the warranty.

thank you. Jeff confirmed the same thing. doesn't matter if car hit used car lot. as long as the warranty software accepts the VIN, he can sell it. he confirmed that he is $1000 under the retail on them as well, but, without a retail price list, who knows. Jeff was as generous with his time with me as he was 4 or 5 years ago when i bought a 7/100 from him on a GLS550.
I called Shawn Teed, but he wasn't available so i got transferred to a voicemail box that didn't have an outgoing message positively identifying it as his. rather, it had the default robot voice saying i reached extension 331. as such, i cannot comment on his pricing and i assume that he never received it.
for anyone interested, i was looking for ELW pricing on 7/75K and 7/100K for a GLE55. price quote from Jeff was $5256 and $6291, respectively. although the GLE is sick, i opted to snag a '22 CPO Maserati Levante Modena instead because it already had warranty until sometime in '28 included. we'll see how that works out

Jeff just called me back on a quote. He said he’s been on vacation since the 12th and just got back today. He’s catching up today. Also, Jeff did mention if he cannot help you, he will most likely not email or call back. He said in a nice way that when he does try to give people some advice on things he can’t help with directly, he gets 20 questions after and he doesn’t have the time to answer questions. He runs his finance team, so he simply just doesn’t have the time. He apologized. Really nice guy - he’s just spread super thin and straight to the point.
