Hi, I am looking to buy the MB extended warranty for my S550 4Matic. I was quoted $5495 (!!) for the 6/100 warranty. Has anybody been able to get a discount on one of these? It seems like it would be a good buy at $3000 but not $5495

1)- Is that over your manufacturere's warranty of 4/50K ?
2)- Is this extended warranty an extension of your current OEM warranty ?

I have an extended MB Warranty and the price was up there. However, no deductible, and you can take your car to any MB shop with no worries of getting reimbursed or claims refused.

It was pricey, but considering costs to repair certain systems vs cost of the warranty. Weigh it out...

I heard that you can contact Lisa Lehrbaum at 1-800-655-3535(Courtesy Motors-Mercedes) and she will offer you a great price. Someone on another forum mentioned up to 40% off on a zero deductable 7/75 or a 7/100 Mercedes USA Factory extended warranty. Call and let us know what happens. Good luck.

Dealers will discount the factory warranty. I emailed several at the time and some quoted MSRP and ultimately a few quoted 10% off.

I managed to do about 17% off the quoted factory warranty extension amounts, so keep at it.

Contact "Lisa" for cheap Mercedes-Benz Extended Warranty!
Quote: I heard that you can contact Lisa Lehrbaum at 1-800-655-3535(Courtesy Motors-Mercedes) and she will offer you a great price. That's exactly where I purchased my MB ELW from! She saved me over $2,000+ on MB ELW! To help others purchase cheap MB ELW's, there are 2 ways to directly contact "Lisa":

1) DIRECT LINE: (530) 230-3154. The best times to reach "Lisa" are in the evenings, 5pm-8pm PST. She also has Tuesday's off (as well as one weekend each month), so if she's not there, then call back another day. If she's busy, then call back in a few minutes. DO NOT LEAVE HER VOICEMAILS!!! She receives too many voicemails, and cannot respond to all of them! The best thing to do is to be patient, and call back in a few minutes... or use Option #2 below....

2) E-MAIL: lisal@donotspam.chicocourtesy.com <== REMOVE "donotspam." FROM THE ADDRESS! If you cannot get a hold of her using the telephone, or don't have the time or patience to call, then you can also reach her using e-mail. If you are e-mailing her, please include the following information about your Mercedes-Benz vehicle:

MB ELW YOU'RE INTERESTED IN (ie: 7yr/75K, 7yr/100K, etc)

CAR YEAR
CAR MAKE/MODEL
VIN#
# OF MILES

YOUR FULL NAME
ADDRESS
TELEPHONE NUMBER
(so she can call you back)

She will respond to her e-mails as soon as she can.

NOTES:

A)
All genuine Mercedes-Benz ELW's have NO DEDUCTABLE! If you're being quoted a deductable, then it's NOT a genuine MB ELW!

B) All Mercedes-Benz vehicles are eligible to purchase genuine MB ELW's if they are still under Factory Warranty! (Many dealers will tell differently, but they are lying!)

C) If your Mercedes-Benz is still within 30-days of purchase, you can purchase/add-on a genuine MB ELW with no penalty. If your Mercedes-Benz is NOT within 30-days of purchase (but still under Factory Warranty), you still can purchase a genuine MB ELW for your vehicle, but there will be a surcharge (~15% I think, but I don't know how they calculate it... ask Lisa).

D) If your Mercedes-Benz is NOT under Factory Warranty anymore, but you would still like to purchase an Extended Warranty for your vehicle, then Lisa also offers multiple 3rd-Party Warranties (just like other MB dealers as well). She probably can give you a competitive rate on these as well (doesn't hurt to ask!).

E) You can purchase your Mercedes-Benz Extended Warranty from ANY MB Dealership in the country (NOT only the dealer where you purchased your vehicle from). Many dealers will tell differently, but they are lying!

If there is a deductible, then it may not be a factory warranty. Also, why are all the prices much higher than when I bought mine? In '03, I got the 7 year/100k mile warranty for roughly $2300, and I felt that was expensive. I have had to use it a couple times and never paid anything extra. Just sign and leave. There is one year left on it and I wouldn't have my car without it.

Yes, I agree that MB ELW's are pretty expensive. I remember when I purchased a 7yr/100K from MB in 2002 for around $2000+ as well, and I also thought that was expensive. Well now it's 7 years later, and I guess we just gotta get used to prices going up...

I was shopping for an MB limited extended warranty for my 200 E320 CDI just short of completing my MB factory warranty period and ran into Tim Sorrick, which I believe is the replacement for Lisa L that I see mentioned in the forums. Tim extended me a very competitive rate (like Lisa's) on the warranty and it was a very clean no hassle transaction. Mention my name "Vivek" to Tim and he'll gladly help. He is currently the dinance manager at Modesto European and his direct line is 209-550-8225.

For everybody info. Lisa left the business and seems to be in another line of work.
I am trying to see if her replacement offers the same good deals. She was at Chico,CA. not Modesto,CA

Was looking for the Mercedes ELW for my '09 SL550 and had a great experience with these 2 people:

Rich Carlson
Business Manager
Mercedes-Benz of Georgetown (TX)
rcarlson@mbofgeorgetown.com
ph: (512) 930-6155
fax: (512) 930-6193

and

Tim Sorrick

209-550-8225 Direct Line
209-575-7551 Fax
www.modestoeuropean.com
tsorrick@modestoeuropean.com

They both were happy to answer my questions and quoted me a great rate on 7/75 warranty. I ended up going with Rich because I live in Austin (30 min from Georgetown) and prefer to support local folks when it's reasonable. Both of them said there were happy to handle the whole transaction over the phone for people that are not local.

When ever your in doubt stick with a factory extended warranty, as you can never go wrong with it. And it is recognized at any MB Dealership.

Found extended factory warranty - great price
Rich Carlson
Business Manager
Mercedes-Benz of Georgetown (TX)
rcarlson@mbofgeorgetown.com
ph: (512) 930-6155
fax: (512) 930-6193

I emailed Rich with all the data per your instructions, after buying a 2008 SLK 280 Edition yesterday with 3,740 miles. He quoted me a great price to extend the warranty to 2015.

Thanks for recommending him. He was very pleasant, informative, and sold me a factory warranty that was almost 25% off retail. I live in AZ and could not have come close to that price. My Scottsdale dealer actually said, "the factory sets the prices - not us

I bought the 7-yr, 75k mile.

I have never spoken with Rich. I contacted via email both Timothy and Rich. Tim was the only one to reply and it is Tim whom I purchased AND would recommend buying your extended warranty through.

Tim Sorrick left, now go to Erin Mahre at MBZ Santa Rosa
Hey all,

Tim Sorrick left Modesto last Friday, but he was nice enough to pass the torch of low hassle and low price MBZ ELW contracts to Erin Mahre the Finance & Lease Manager at Mercedes Benz of Santa Rosa (Smothers European)

She was very helpful and got me the new 7yr/125k warranty and saved me a couple of thousand dollars off my local dealer's quote.

She took all the info over the phone, faxed me a copy of the warranty agreement and then mailed me 2 "original" copies printed off NetStar.

She really did a great job.

Here is her contact info:
Erin Mahre
Finance & Lease Mgr
Mercedes Benz of Santa Rosa
Direct # (707)521-3996
2881 Corby Ave.
Santa Rosa, CA 95407

If anyone is still looking for Tim, he is going to be the new Manager of International Sales Planning at 5.11 Tactical. We wish him the best of luck!

All:

Thanks for the lead to contact Erin at Smothers European in Santa Rosa.
I purchased a factory ELW for my 08 GL550 at a great price.
She is friendly, efficient, and explained everything clearly.

Contact her, get your MB coverage extended, and save some bucks.

Did you eventually call any of these guys? I am looking to purchase an MB Extended warranty as well and the dealer I spoke to yesterday was quoting me regular prices. I have up to the end of January before the 15% increase kicks in. (They all say that). I live in NYC too.

Update: I was able to get in touch with Erin. She is great, very friendly, very professional, and yes, she has a highly attractive price on the ELW, compared to the list price!

I would 100% recommend her. The only thing is she is insanely busy because everyone who reads this forum from all over the country is calling her for an ELW. So be patient and keep trying to get her in person. Don't leave a voicemail - she may just not get around because she has so many calls!

She's been doing this for 30 years, so just a fantastic, easy and no-nonsense process.

I also want to give a heads up to Bruce, a forum sponsor. Bruce offers a very compelling ELW through Fidelity and the per year price is significantly less than MB, but in the end I went with Erin because I didn't want any potential claim hassles when going to a dealer.

Good luck folks!
