Best Discount for MB Extended Warranty

Warranty on private sale
More to your point that you aren't saving money by waiting till the last minute, it's more likely one will ultimately pay more. The longer one waits to purchase the ELW, the price continues to go up. To get the absolute lowest cost deal, one should actually buy within 30 days of taking delivery of their new car. The great news is if you trade or sell your call with an extended policy, you are entitled to a refund, which if the car is sold or traded before the original new car warranty is up, is 100%.

2017.E300 / 2015.GL450
After some comparison shopping on an ELW for my 2015 GL450, Jeff Jackson at Tafel Motors in Louisville, Kentucky had the best price. Unfortunately, their state law changed to tax service contracts from in-state and out-of-state buyers. Add 6% and see where you end up. For me, it made sense to go with Cassandra Castro at International Mercedes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her price was not too far from Jeff's to begin with.
The process could not have been easier. I emailed her for a quote. Called her to make payment. She immediately emailed me the warranty certificate and contract terms. Done.

Have been reading over the forum comments about extended warranties as my recently purchased 2015 ML350 is reaching the end of the factory coverage very soon. I emailed two of the contacts that have been rated highly in the forum and learned something I did not know or had missed - if you are not the original owner and did NOT buy from a MB dealer (CPO), then the warranty can NOT be extended.
With that, does anyone have good experience or recommendations for third party warranty companies?

Now is after that facts, I already got my extended warranty and I paid $6,000 for next 5 years and/or up to 150,000 miles.
...I'm just curious, did I get a good deal or I got burned and I should've gone with Jeff Jackson, who is well praised here?!?

Another vote for Jeff Jackson at Tafel. I sent him an email asking for the price of an extended warranty for my wife’s GL550 and a 3 Year PPM contract. He called my cell within 15 minutes. Great pricing and goes out of his way to help....even told us we didn’t need to purchase the extended warranty for another 12 months and recommended that we wait. Earned my business today and in the future.

Hey there,
I’m super confused, I was with the understanding that we could only extend the factory warranty up to 3 years after the 4 year factory bumper to bumper warranty expires. I see owners saying they purchased a 7yr/75k warranty and 150k mile ELW. What the longest you can extend the warranty to? We have a ‘15 CLS550 who’s factory warranty expires March 2019. How long can I extend that to?

And I have an extended warranty which spans 7 years or 75,000 miles. This means, I purchased an additional three years past the new car warranty and there's no way I'll ever put that many miles on the car, even if I keep it 7 years.

Third party...but I believe is better, the MB gives you to option to have the car fixed only at a MB repair facility...the third party covers repairs made at a MB dealership shop or any certified ASE mechanic.
BTW when I signed for this ELW I've done it at the dealership.

I think that's what's confusing qmciver. There are MB factory extended warranty sold and covered by MB that can extend for 3 years beyond factory 4 year warranty (so a total of 7 years) then there are 3rd party warranties that has a wide array of different coverage and restrictions.

Same here. Plus, with a MB extended warranty, you could always get your money back if you sell or turn in your car before the 4 year initial warranty is up....prorated after that. Other 3rd party warranties don't afford you that benefit.

Who has the lowest price on Fidelity Platinum warranty? The reason I want Fidelity is because I like to have an extra 4-6 years of warranty. MB CPO only extends it for 2-3 years.

I have a different warranty provider, and for $5,500 I've got 5 years of warrant and/or up to 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Mine does...now that after only 6 months I had repairs in a total of $6,000+ it will be no refund, but I believe that applies to all warranties, including MB, they always deduct the repairs performed and covered by EW.

OK the whole story is like this:
-In August 2017 the MB warranty was up.
-In May 2018 my odometer was showing 49,000+ miles
-I went to my dealership and I asked: "Can I extent the warranty to my car?"
-My rep. took me to an office where they do warranty and stuff like that.
-The lady there gave me the option of EW up to 150,000 miles or extra 5 years (whichever comes first) for $5,900 with NO deductible.
-I accepted it and she signed me up, with this company: "Red Shield"
That's about it....and BTW, as of today, 6 months later I had repairs (covered by EW) in the amount of $6,000 ...is true that the dealer kind of inflates the (labor) bills, but still, I consider myself well ahead of the game considering that I have left 4.5 years of warranty left and the car is getting older, not younger
