Have any more info on National Warranty and their exclusionary plan for vehicles up to 80000 miles?

My dealership has added a new provider, National
Warranty. Before 80,000 miles, the car qualifies for
their "Premium Plus" coverage, which is exclusionary - the best they offer.
For a 3 year/36,000 mile plan with only $100 deductible, after my discount,
your price is $3,788.

hope this helps.

my mechanic (works at the local dealership and doing work at home) said most everything expensive has been replaced recently (new
struts at 71,000 and the car has been very well maintained) and was thinking i would not spend as much as the extended warranty would cost if something did go wrong and is advising against it right now.
not sure if i want to spend $3,788 for the piece of mind or not. i know repairs could pass the $4k mark in a heartbeat, just not sure what to do.

Warranty Quote for SL500?

Bruce, I have a 2005 MB SL500 with 47,000 miles, The extended MB warranty runs out In July 2011 and I'm looking for a new warranty to cover me for another 4 years or so, expecting to put on about 9k mi./yr - so a 4yr/75K/100K mi warranty might be the ideal. My local MB dealer recommends the Fidelity warranty plans. Can you give me a quote, including their best plan? Thanks - Bill (941) 779-2929

Have you tried the chrysler service contract yet. they just covered $2600 worth of work for me. Both times i used it they approved my claim. I believe I paid less than $1800 for an additional 3 yrs and total 70k miles after the factory warranty ended. $100 deductible. I don't drive my Sl many miles. I was told I can extend it as well so i will look into it.

my friends Sl was out of warranty so he had to do an inspection and paid a little more but the just paid a claim near $7 grand so it was worth it

We sell the same Mercury product that Damien offers (in fact, I know Damien personally - we work in the same building - and he's a great guy). We sell in all states except Maine. Our price for the Gold coverage, 36 Mo/36K Miles is currently $3807 with $100 deductible per incident (this price assumes your 2003 SL500 2WD has less than 110,000 miles and you've purchased within the past 21 days, also, different pricing applies in CA, OR, ID AK, FL). You can take your MB to any licensed repair facility in the US or Canada. The repair facility is paid directly by credit card.

We're autoPOM! Our mechanical breakdown protection plans are backed and administered by Mercury Insurance Group.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and I have an offer pending on a 2003 SL500 w/48K miles and 1 owner clean carfax. Question is that there is an existing extended Platinum warranty from Fidelity warranty services until 1/14/14 or 97300 miles. Is this a good company and warranty? I have seen some negative remarks about this company. Does anyone have any experience dealing with claims?

I researched several 3rd party extended warranties last year, and the Platinum warranty from Fidelity looked to be pretty good and was being offered by my local M-B dealer. I chose a different ext warranty, but the Platinum warranty would have been my next choice.
You didn't mention whether the existing Platinum warranty includes a deductible amount, such as $200 or $0, which is a factor to consider, as well as the fee charged to transfer the existing warranty to you - the new owner. Good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply, deductible is 100 and I wasn't informed of any charge to transfer it. A dealer is selling the car, will have to check tomorrow on any transfer fee. Is Fidelity the company you went with? If not would you mind sharing the company name?

Since your warranty will be thru the dealer, then I suspect there will be no transfer fee. I bought the Chrysler Max Care ext warranty, and several months ago I read that it's no longer being offered on SL models.

Be careful, my understanding is that the Fidelity warranty can only be transferred by a private party seller to a private party owner, when the seller pays the fee ($100 I think) and completes the transfer paperwork.

I'd call Fidelity and get clarification. I do not think the warranty can be transferred to a dealer and then from a dealer to you. Now if the dealer gets the former owner to do the paperwork into your name and act as if he's selling directly to you, then Fidelity won't know about it most likely.

You can't take the dealer's word for anything, call Fidelity directly and ask.

Could anyone else get me a quote on a warranty, my car is 2007 sl550 with 17,800 miles and currently has no warranty. Would like something with total coverage and either 2 or 3 years.

I got a great after market warranty, which covers everything except routine maintenance, tire, bulbs, etc. The company name is Preferred Warrantys. (Warrantys.com)
Purchased from my MB Dealer for my R129, and it paid for itself so I bought one for my new SL550.

It covers everything at a "$0" deductible.

Thanks but already purchased my car and that company only sells their warranties through dealerships before the car is purchased.

Glad you got one. I bought mine from my local dealer in PA, after I bought my car from dealer in IL.
