**Limited Run** Custom "Old School" AMG Emblems CAST ALUMINUM!
Hello all,
This was a project that started all due to the fact that the OEM emblem in the engine bay of my AMG C36 was plastic and had self destructed over the years from the heat. Not only that but the dealer wanted $440 ( as the emblem and engine plastic are not offered seperatley). I took molds off the original emblem and sand casted them in aluminum. So what you will be getting is as close to the real deal as you can get while actually far surpassing the OEM plastic quality. The whole process is documented here : https://mbworld.org/forums/c36-amg-c...molding-4.html
I did a very short run of these so this will most likley be it, first come first serve!
The smaller AMG apron emblems are sold out, however, if someone is interested I'll look around for some as I think a few may be floating around the shop. So far its been close to 6 months since I have made these and I have had this emblem throughout the New England winter and summer with no issues at all. I also have another set in Lebanon with no reported problems at all, so you can be assured these are quality pieces. Just apply some double sided tape or glue ect. and these things will last forever.
Just for the books here is what the dealer quoted me for the various emblems:
The larger OEM emblem cost is $440 ( as the emblem and engine plastic are not offered seperatley)
The Bootlid OEM emblem cost is $63.00
The small front apron emblem is $83.00
(All are USD)
I'm not looking to get rich off these things, however, I did spend a ton of time on them and am thus more interested in selling to the enthusiast or purist. I hope $35.00 a pop for each large emblem sounds fair. Please look at the photos carefully, these could easily be polished to a mirror sheen with enough elbow grease, however, they have been sitting for a while in drawers so there may be a few minor scuffs on them. I'm looking at them now and they look pretty darn good though. Considering I'm undercutting the dealer and they are practically improved OEM equivalents I guarantee you will be happy with them. These will replace the engine bay AMG emblem and also the rear boot lid, they are the same exact size (the dealer doesn't want you to know that!).
