G580 arrived

Im signing docs and picking up the G580 tomorrow. I have a 25 G63 on order that should be arriving end of Q1 I believe. For context I have owned probably 7 G63s 3 old body and 4 new body. Also have had a 23 G63 4x4, which Mercedes just bought back (will buy another one very soon). None of my G63s were stock. For the 580, it drives really good!! Very surprised at how it drove. I thought it would be a let down but it actually was not. Everything else other than it being electric is all G. I really do like the keyless handles. I think that is the only thing the current body Gs needed.

I will say though I wish it was gloss black. My dealer is seeing if they can swap it out with another dealer that has a gloss black and I'll pay a little over sticker. I pay zero ADM on anything I buy from my dealer, which Im thankful and blessed for that. They have been amazing for so many years. All my vehicles are gloss black except my two bulls which are Viola.

Again I was very very surprised how it drove. It does make some cool sounds, all artificial though. For an electric vehicle I believe it's the best one that stayed true to a normal feeling and looking vehicle. I would definitely change the wheels/tires out, or at the least change out the tires to off-road like Nitto Ridge Grapplers. To have a touch screen on a G feel weird but its cool. Hopefully I can get a gloss black one swapped out. Also for comparison, in my garage line up for SUV's I have a 24 Range LWB SV, 23 Urus Perf, and then the 23 G63 Square that just left. The rest are cars/trucks/bikes. The UP has to be the most fun SUV out, not at all leaning towards comfort. The RR SV is the extreme opposite, which is extremely comfortable and slightly boring. The SV is a very high spec so Im not missing anything on it, it's just pure luxury. It is decently quick. The Square hands down is the best all around SUV, nothing really compares in the SUV market to it. As long as you don't have height clearance issues.

Here is the one I will be getting tomorrow unless it gets swapped. out.

I know some people really love black G-Klasses, but in my opinion, the Obsidian Black with the gloss black accents sort of looks like a rolling brick-shaped void (I generally just feel like black vehicle look like voids or formal service vehicles). I like there to be some contrast, but I understand the appeal of a murdered-out spec.

I find the Moonlight White Magno to be a really stunning, brilliant color, maybe more so than the metallic version. It’s probably what I would choose for a G 580 w/EQ Technology if Classic Gray/Arabian Gray non-metallic or South Sea Blue Magno were not available.

Seems counterintuitive but the optional black grille actually looks better on black instead of white to me. My eye is drawn more to the differences in the openings rather than the blackness of the surrounding plastic. Not having a spare tire is a complete deal breaker for me though. And that stoopid box is definitely going to get broken into by a homeless guy in a Walmart parking lot. I might have bought one and removed it but looks like a Hearse without something back there. Oh well...

Congrats! I'm hopefully getting mine end of next week. Any chance you have a picture of the window sticker? I wonder what the official EPA mileage is.
