I'll post my actual review comparing the two in a week or so, but for the time being, if anyone wants a bright green Taycan - or knows someone who might be interested. I would appreciate the shares

I was still thinking about maybe getting one but at 6 1/2 feet tall I won't be able to get it into my garage. Guess I'm going to need to buy another house with an RV garage first. No way I'm leaving a car this expensive outside in a hail storm. Oh well...

Did you measure your garage btw? In the US, the "standard" garage door is 7 feet. I haven't seen too many below 7ft because it would require a non-standard door.

The door probably is 7 ft but between it hanging down a few inches at the top and the concrete lip at the bottom there goes ~6 inches. Way too close for comfort for me. Next house is going to have an RV garage though so I can put big fookin' mudders on my electric G.

I think it's 6.8 feet in the tri-state area.

I may get a carriage door that opens to the front, that will solve the G-wagon height problem.

They have a pretty nice moonlight white metallic one close to me so I doubled checked. Opening is exactly 7'. Concrete lip is 1 1/2 inches and door hangs down 3 1/2". So that's 79" and G580 is 78.2" tall. Plus concrete slopes down/out a little so really only half an inch to spare.

Deflate your tires when you pull in. J/k. But more seriously, I know my Taycan lets me lift the car and does it automatically when I pull into my slopped driveway (so I don't scrape). I wonder if there is any similar options to lower the G-Class temporarily.

Would be nice to be able to lower it. If it wasn't electric wouldn't be as much of a big deal but I do all my charging at home so need to park inside frequently. Maybe I could use a 2x4 to push it up an extra couple inches or sumptin'... *sigh*

Really looking forward to your review as another Taycan Cross Turismo owner here looking to switch to a G580. I think I'm in the similar situation like you, it's gonna be my local daily drive. But would love to able to tap into the Tesla Supercharger network for road trip here in the east coast.

Going to give the green light for the G580 delivery as soon as the Taycan sells (later today). The new Taycan GTS was just released btw, which seems like a decent price point. When I was thinking about getting another Taycan, the 4S seemed too slow (coming from a Turbo), and the Turbo had now gone above $200k MSRP when specced out. Electrifiy America hasn't been terrible in the NYC-metro area, the few times I've used it.
