car would not start
what a morning
car charged up to 70% (as always)
drove to costco, bought my junk, got back in the car
bing bong! car not in operating mode (or whatever) power reduced (or something)
This cannot happen to me. It only happens to other people.
Turning it on and off for about 15 min, trying to see if that helps. Nothing. Same messages.
Putting it in R and D work for maybe a few seconds, then there's some sort of grinding/clicking and it goes into P. So, I'm able to scoot around a foot at a time on every on/off cycle. Really terrible.
I called Mercedes through the car, they ordered a tow service for me. Also told me to reset the codes by using the key fob unlock-lock 3 times while outside the car, then wait 10 min, then get back in and try again.
Well, the code reset worked. Drove off and made it home w/o incident. Cancelled the tow service while driving home.
My confidence in the car is at 90% now. 5000 mi of uneventful usage, before today's incident.

Sorry to hear this! Did you get the following three messages?

Ahh sorry I did not see this msg until now. I don't recall what messages I got on the dash, but the above looks familiar.
I logged in again to report I had another unusual incident.
I was stopped at a traffic light, slight decline on the road (would have rolled backwards if vehicle was in neutral).
The light turned green and so I lifted my foot off the brake pedal and pressed the accelerator pedal. A really LOUD clunk was heard. I asked my passenger if they heard it and they said yes.
I then saw a "60% power available" or something message on the dash. Reminded me of when I was stuck in the parking garage.
Well, 60% is still enough to drive home, so I drove normally. Eventually the 60% started to increase until it hit 100% and it disappeared.
My Service A is coming up in about 50 days, so I'll let the service ppl know.

I had the same experience, was driving down the highway and heard a clunk and then got the same messages / reduced power/turtle light etc. I continued to drive for a bit to get off the highway and the reduced power percentage kept dropping. Luckily when I turned the car off and back on a few minutes later it cleared and operated normally, however drove it straight to MB Belleuve. They kept it for a few days, having to "escalate" to Germany. In the after report, there wasn't a fix currently - the sheet said in December.
