Those Lambo's are crazy neat, Ricky -- I know of two guys who have one.
I think the CCW Design guy is a photoshopper/designer.
But I did read last summer of, and saw actual pics of, a MBZ pickup - seriously. Sounds crazy, I know; but with all the new models that they have come out with lately, and with the R Class "minivan", and the "Full-Size SUV" GL Class, it isn't that hard for me to believe that MBZ is considering - or will actually - come out with a pickup....
And I would consider one!
(right now my preferred pickup is the GMC 2500HD with the Allison tranny and the Duramax diesel)

No, it wasn't a chop-job (conversion) Chappy.
The article, and the photos, were about/of an obvious 'mule' or test vehicle - a pickup truck - which Mercedes was prototype testing. The article said that they were considering adding one to the model lineup in 2007 or 2008 - something like that.
I have not heard or come across a single 'peep' or hint, since....
I'm guessing that they figured that they couldn't compete, or sell enough of them, or sell them for enough, in the pickup market in the US -- and so it failed the marketing evaluation....
You know that they make trucks, vans, busses - you name it - elsewhere in the world. And they did come out with a brand-new minivan (R), and full-size SUV (GL), for the US market just this year. What's missing from the US middle-america trifecta? That's right - a pickup truck.
...and I'm still interested......

That's the right color, and the front-end looks similar.... And Autoweek is somewhere that I go.
...I just don't have the article with me....dammit!
What'd they say? And do you agree with my marketing evaluation failure scenario, or is it still a live potential project?

From a little birdy on this website:
Am I right, or am I right? -- naaaah, I won't go there.... I hope they make the thing....
I spoke today with the Service and Parts manager for The South East USA out of the Jacksonville, Fl Vehicle Processing Center....this is strictly back chanel stuff (from other inside sources at MBUSA)...the New GL, which is also being built at this time (hang on) may very well be tooled up to also be produced as a Pick Up!!! There is rumor that there are some proto types being mocked up in Vance and in Germany and that the 3.2 or larger diesel may be offered!!
