Offroading??

I just want to know. Do any of the G Wagen owners out there take their MB TRUCK offroading?? Or is it just a really hot status symbol for the street? Either way, they are beautiful beasts!

My 1984 280GE was regularly driven off road from new; and my 2000 G500 goes to the same places as did the 280GE.

So, to answer your question, "YES" regularly.

Careful dude, you'll get stuck. The ML is like my X5- good on the street, in trouble on the rough stuff.

If you want to off road in style and be able to drive home without the need of a tow truck then get a G, a Range Rover or RRS.

The ML is actually quite capable off-road. Certainly not in the same class as the G-wagen or Range Rover, but still quite a bit superior to the X5. I'd put it in the same class as the Cayenne.

Are you talking about the new ML's or the old ML's; and US vs Rest Of the World models?

Reason for asking is that the 2007 USA versions only have a single speed TC and no diff locks, whereas both features are available in the R-O-W as the off road option package. I would imagine that the off road option adds quite a bit to the ML's off road capability.

Sorry, should have been more specific. I meant the 2007 ML sold outside the US with the off-road package.
