Last week eMercedesBenz.com posted leaked photos and tech specs on the 2009 G-Class. This morning, eMB posted the official photos and press release.

As a former G owner, I've been anxiously awaiting the revision thinking I will buy a G55. No question that the torque disparity is still great but with the 550 motor and 7-speed tranny in the G500/550 the difference in 0-60 times between the two is only 0.5 sec. Hmm, might have to rethink whether the G55 is really worth that extra 20k.... Anyone out there considering any of these vehicles?

These photos show different wheels for the 09 model, could be one is the European model one is the U.S. model, either way I like these wheels better. I haven't seen any interior shots yet, the cabin was a bit dated but always comfortable and logical.

That's the G55, the previous pics were of the G500. Haven't seen interior shots myself, though there are changes to the center instrument stack, seats, etc.

OMG your right! I completely missed that those were of the G55! That explains the extra additions to the exterior. Thanks for the catch.

Looks good but I don't see a huge difference.
