Spare Tire Cover Dent
Being the idiot I am, I recently backed up into another SUV in the G55 and dented the spare tire cover heavily. Asked around and some "dent experts" told me that they could fix this problem for me for roughly $70 but that it would not look perfect at all. My Benz dealer told me that the piece costs 900 on its own and then I would have to get it painted on my own and then they would assemble it back on! How ridiculous. Has anyone had a similar problem???? Please help me Im desparate, my baby is flawed!

Doesn't sound like a very good dealer, if he can't handle the paint work or job it out for you.
Doesn't the G55 have the Rear ParkTronic? I do on my G500 and consider it to be mostly a noisy irritant; but it sure would have helped prevent this deal.

yea, the g320 one got dented a few years back.
my grandfather is a metal worker... ...he fixed the mtal ring. the new mercedes benz cover thing was purchased in our color at europa. Unfortunately when we got it we realized it doesn't fit our oversized spare tire. That means it will eventually fly off because the ring won't hold onto it.
So we bought a black rubber one that looks the same kind of and are using that one.
