Looking to buy a used G-class
I am looking to buy a used G-class, as a new one is out of the question at this point. A couple of questions:
1. Any particular years to avoid?
2. Is the AMG version, noticeably more superior?
3. Cost for upkeep g500 vs g55 (brakes, tires, etc.)?
4. How much are warranties for this vehicle?

We love ours...
Want to buy it. Black/charcoal 65000 pampered miles.
Ours is a 03 and only problems were some window switches. This was apparently a problem as were a few electrical problems on the 02 and early 03 models. Ours is a late 03
We have had no expenses and the CPO warranty was up last year.
I would imagine that the Kompressor engines on the AMG would be more costly to fix as well as brake repacements. We are looking for a new 08.

2. Yes, the G55 is a monster and you will love it. Seriously, it's intoxicating.
3. The G55 is slightly more, but its worth it.
4. Extended warranties from the dealer run 3-4 grand.

If possible, get into a 55...its honestly worth it. At least test drive one, if you do, Im positive you'll end up getting one without a doubt. And from what I have read and heard...04 isnt bad but 05's and up are great.
Have fun with the purchase. Buying a Benz should always be a fun thing haha.
