2002 g400 cdi
intermittent power loss

i have a 2002 g 400

sometimes while driving the car goes into an emergency like status
it looses power as if the turbos were gagged and no air is going through
rpm's don't go over 2000 rpms so the car is driveable but using it like a manual tranny to get it up to speed .

sometimes the car resets alone after turning it off and starting it again
and sometimes it doesn't and stays that way for longer times

any suggestions gladly appreciated

by the way at the dealership they made me buy and change the epc computer it cost me bundles and i still get the problem

I'm having almost the same problem, but my G is gasoline. I don't know if diesel and gas has the same componens, (throttle sender unit, Maf, electronic throttle body plus EPC) Right now I checking all components and the first bet is the MAF. I took everything out and cleaning it. I change the potentiometer(throttler sender) because the lack of power and acceleration but same thing. The butterfly (inside the T body) does not open 90 degree when acelerating by hand, so have to check. Keep in touch for news.
