Advice from experts - G55
There has to be a few G55 experts out there that know every little change from model year to model year. I am toying with buying a brand new G55 but I am also in touch with an almost new 2004 with only 20,000 miles and in pristine shape. The '04 would save me $50-60k. That said, I always want the latest and greatest even if I have to pay up a bit.
Question is what interior/exterior changes have been made since '04 and can I easily upgrade to those changes. Electronics for example - is it an easy switch out? Any body panels changed and can they be switched out.
Any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome quadcar! FYI; There's a G55 section within the AMG models.
Comparing MY04 to MY11 G55 is apples to oranges not only in price, (closer to 70K) but especially with respect to performance. The most significant difference was the introduction of the Kompressor or Supercharged motor for the MY05 which increased power by 30% to 469 hp and 516 ft.-lb over the MY03/04 G55's naturally aspirated motor, 349 hp and 387 ft.-lb. Regarding OEM interior upgrades, aside from instrument cluster and possibly Alcantara headliner anything else wouldn't be cost effective. Exterior OEM upgrades such as wheels, lighting and grill although not inexpensive are fairly easy to modify.
