2007 G500 - Steering Wheel Controls
Hi All - I've owned MBs since 2005, but recently purchased a used 2007 G500. Got a question on the steering wheel controls. Can you control radio/volume from the steering wheel? I also have a 2005 C230 and you can control the radio and volume from the steering wheel, but did not see anything definitive in the operator's manual. No radio menu or option appears as you toggle through the various menus. I know a dumb question, but figure someone out there may know. Thanks in advance!

Yep, that's it. It is factory - nothing aftermarket. I guess when I'm toggling through the menu using the buttons on the steering wheel, I don't have an option for radio or any type of audio for that matter.

Yeah, unfortunately when I'm playing radio/CD the +/- doesn't do anything in terms of raising or lowering -- only the center console with dial works to chg volume. In terms of trying to change the station, on my C class, I have a menu that appears with either radio or CD (whichever is engaged) and I can control station / CD track. I don't even get that when I flip through the steering menu on the G. Weird. Maybe some kind of electrical issue or needs to be reset.. Also, thanks for taking the time to respond, much appreciated.

Same issue
It is an issue with 2007 being the first year for the new info system and dvd nav etc. I spent countless hours on the phone and took truck to dealer multiple times to finally hear from the area manager for MB that they do not control volume or change station on the 2007 models. Seems crazy that they would release a truck that doesn't do this but there it is. That is how the truck left the showroom floor.
