Truly amazing, I've been following you for a bit. How do you have the patience for this? I used to rebuild 1960s and 1970s vehicles and found the work so frustrating and things never fit.
Great work!

I did not rush it and took my time so it did not dress me out too much.
I did not have any issues with fitment, except for some parts that were re-trimmed in leather, where the thickness tolerance was changed, those parts required some fiddling.

Sorry everyone that I have not posted for a while, I was gone out of the country for 2.5 weeks and now im back.
My missing parts (steering wheel, sun visors, gear knob and hand break handle) are still missing. I am buying everything again and having it modified and re-trimmed ((((( very sad.
I'll keep you updated.

Really appreciate you documenting all this build progress, it has really helped my in my G500 repairs. REALLY sucks your parts you purchased are missing, beyond just the money, that is a lot of time to wait for those to be modified and shipped. Really wish you the best on getting this on the road ASAP!
I was wondering if you had part numbers or new the names for one of the items I saw you bought for your build.
- The black plastic rubber nub that sits on front/top of both the front windows. About the size of the dime/quarter, guessing it keeps the window from popping out? The rubber is missing from mine and have had no luck finding a part number. I have attached the pic you originally posted.

Its funny, I tried to order 2 new headlight seals to install behind my aftermarket xenon headlights, and they cant sell me just 2, i need to order a pack of 5, they refuse to separate them. Dumb dealer. .
Hilarious because our cars dont come with 5 headlights :eyeroll:

Oh that’s just strange.... I buy all my parts from Lokey Mercedes in Florida. Daniel at wholesale department is very helpful.

New sun visors and handbrake handle came in.
Sun visors are going back.... dealer accidentally ordered gray, I wanted black. Even though they are going to get wrapped in leather, you will still be able to see the small section where it clips in to the sun visors holder in the headliner. I would rather see little bit of black instead of gray. I know these are small things, but if you’re going to do it, might as well and do it right )
These are going to get swapped out for black.

Because this dealership was very accommodating and willing to work with me on the pricing, give me good wholesale prices.

Hello everyone
I’m still here, sorry for not posting for a long time. I’ve just been waiting for the steering wheel.
I now have all the parts but now they have to be shipped to get reupholstered, so more delay....
meanwhile I’ve been doing small things like replacing shaft seal on my power steering pump because it had a leak. Replaced a water pump and some pulleys while I had things taken apart. New serpentine belt and radiator hoses.
Took the car around the block and to a gas station.
Here's a pic )

is there a difference between before and after 2015 door seals?
I noticed different part numbers.
Plus: I got wind noise at the passenger door on my 2002 and I was suggested to check the part numbers, since MB did some upgrading concerning the reduction of the noise.
