NEED HELP ON REPLICATING G63 SOUND ON MY 2002 G500!! PLEASE HELP

hello everyone in the g class forums! i am new here and i own a 2002 G500. lately I've been trying to replicate the G63's deep but some what quiet sound (which i love). I've tried removing resonators and purchasing new magnaflow exhaust, but none of that sounds anything like a g63 or even g550. i know that it is impossible to replicate the EXACT sound of a g63, but i'd like similar. Someone please help me replicate the deep quiet sound rumbling sound of a g63!! thanks so much

If the exact sound is of paramount importance I would suggest you replace your exhaust system with OE mufflers and pipes. If I were going to do this I would use the rear muffler with pipes exiting under the rear of the running board with chrome AMG tips. The factory parts will probably run in the range of $2,500 to $3,000 plus installation. So I guess it depends on how much you want the late model sound.

im not quite sure what setup you are talking about. if i were to install the g63 exhaust, i would have to take out the rear muffler and make the tips come out from the sides

I believe so. I inquired about changing my G550 exhaust to a G63 system and was told by the dealer it was no problem. All I had to do was write a check.

this is my current setup with magnaflow exhaust 13216, the car is crazy loud and i hate it. just wasted money on the exhaust and installation.

no muffler, just the cats and the sound exiting from the magnaflow exhaust on both sides

Your set up looks incomplete compared to a stock system. That may be why your having difficulty replicating the OEM sound. If you want the OEM sound you will need to go with all the OEM parts.

are you selling your g550 exhaust system? if not, is it okay for me to purchase a replica g63 exhaust from china? they look and may do the same.

I am not selling my G550 system. Decided not to do the conversion. I'm not against a Chinese replica part but would be careful when your objective is sound and not just the quality of the parts. The sound seems to be important to you. Bite the bullet and do the OEM conversion and be done with it.

i totally understand you on that, but i don't think i am able to spend over $3,000 on just an exhaust system. i think i might go with the replica g63 exhaust, even the replicas cost around $1,000, which is ridiculous.

.
You'all never be able to match it unless you buy a G63. Completely different engines. You can come close by getting a true factory G63 exhaust AND replacing your cam shafts with the m113 55NA cams makes a very nice difference in the rumble note and probably the closest you will get to that slow rolling thunder

Thanks, i saw that. The seller doesnt want to accept any kind of offer. Its going to cost to repair those holes and cracks and dents.
