Anyone in the US have a G550 4x4 on order?

The guys at 3WD said MB nixed the aftermarket sales of these axles. Guess they built up 3 G63s with the portal axles and were happy to build me one yesterday until they called their supplier and found out the axles were no longer available. Sucks cause I was thinking about throwing them on my incoming G63. I don't hate it (and still might get one), but the G550 4x4 just doesn't have enough power and sound for me.

Yes it seems that way, LT isn't saying much, other then they cannot supply me with Portal kits any longer.
Technically I owned the rights to distribute these axles in the US, spent a lot of money time and effort to market them, even spent about $40k on a booth at SEMA 2014!
Guess my buyout check is in the mail, not holding my breath!
If I sound a little bitter about the whole deal it is because I am.

I am the one that did all of the G63 conversions for them. It has been about three months since the buyout of the rights to the Portals happened. Only way to get a hold of a set now is to buy a spare set from a dealer if they will sell them to you without a vin, price is likely over $90k and you would need to modify them quite a lot to accept the single shock and spring mounts.
Trying to source an OEM Rear Skid Plate...Corporate said it will be awhile before the systems are live.

The stock fuel tank protection plates on the US G's is REALLY good at the rear and pretty terrible on the bottom.
I made these two piece plates that bolt right on top of the stock parts, adds a lot more protection to the bottom of the tank.
I have several sets left if anyone wants a set.

Only issue with the fuel tank protection plate on the 4x4² will be that it may only come with the lower SS bumper as well. That and it will likely cost way over $1200!
