G Wagon recall

Just received a notice from MBUSA regarding a recall of certain G models for years 2013-2016. Apparently the steering coupling may have been insufficiently tightened at the factory. According to the letter this may cause excessive wearing and potential loss of steering (YIKES!!!) Unfortunately the parts are not available and another notice will be sent out when the parts become available. And I'm planning a road trip in two weeks! Doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Of course the repair will be done free of charge.

There's a simple DIY solution described on P3.
