G63 front license plate dilemma......
MD is one of the states that requires front license plate to be mounted. And i did not want to drill on my beautiful bumper.
I had this aluminum license plate mount left over from Alfa Romeo 4C, put some padding on the back so it doesn't scratch any part of my G, and three zip ties, Viola.
its low enough and has the angle to it, so the right side of intercooler is not blocked much, doesn't interfere with the PDC, pretty happy with the result.

That's pretty trick. Serves the purpose. We have front plates in Ma. I drilled holes in the factory front plate mount and put it on with zip ties. Most of the time I run without the front plate but carry it in the trunk. Never had a problem (fingers crossed).

Bumping this back up!
Looking for ideas for a plate mount for the 16+ G with the intercoolers in the bumper. I'm trying to avoid zip ties
What about something that grips onto the brush guard?

I would like to avoid putting on the front license plate, but only if I can use a windshield mounted transponder.

It’s a random success for me for windshield mount. I ordered a license mount transponder instead.

Yes, EZpass will work. If you look to the right of the rearview mirror on the passenger size there is a rectangle area of the glass about 2.5x4.5 inches where you mount the transponder. It's easier to see form the outside standing in front of the car in sunlight.
Anywhere besides this box on the windshield glass the signal will not be picked up. I learned after a violation.

My summer home is in NY though, so I spend a lot of time driving on the L.I.E., and out on the East End. I wonder if they can ticket a car from another state for not having a front license plate. And if so, does it matter if the car is from a state where it is legal vs illegal.

In NJ it is illegal as well, but just a fine, no points. I once had a car without a front license plate, and in the entire 3 years I owned it, I never got a ticket for it, so I am going to try my luck with the G. And if I have to pay a fine, it will be worth not having to put the plate on.
