Hi everyone, have a few questions...
Hi everyone,
I'm looking at purchasing a 1985 G280 with ??? miles but in great shape. It's the SWB model in jet black with 5 spd and a V6. It was just imported from Germany and the Used Car dealer is asking 27,900 CDN dollars.
Does anyone have any advice as to what to look for ? Are manual models better than auto ? What areas are problematic ? How are parts to come by and price ? What should I look for in the purchase inspection ??
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Andrew,
I think you rather mean a 280GE (there was never a G-model called G280 ...) Also, there was never a V6 (beside an AMG model with 3,2l-engine) - it should be an R6.
For a good '85 model (less than 150.000 km), we pay here in germany appx. EUR 6.000.-
So I think, your's is no bargain.
