2002 G500 won’t start on first key turn
The last three times I’ve tried it, the starter does nothing when I turn the key. Doesn’t feel like a low battery because when it tries on the second or third turn, it starts right up.
Any thoughts?

Just got a 2010 G550 and experiencing the same issue. Its random, sometimes starts on the first go and other times has to turn the car off and turn it back on to start. Even when it doesnt start up on the first go though all other electrial functions work though.
Any ideas or fixes from anyone?

I had these symptoms a few months ago. Ultimately it blew its fuse (passenger footwell). I replaced the fuse and it worked again for a few weeks.
Ultimately the starter would only work one in a hundred times.
I replaced the starter and now it starts like a champ every time.

Ok bad news. I checked out somethings this morning. I clipped a test wire to the starter to see if it was getting the message to turn over. It was not. I had no voltage when I turned to start with the key. I then took the test wire and touched it to the battery post under the hood and the starter turned the motor over just fine. So the computer or the switch is not functioning properly. I have also put my 40 amp charger on start mode to be sure the battery isn't low on power. That didn't make it turn over either.
PS it hasn't started at all for the past few days. It won't start even when I hotwire the starter with the ignition on.

Did you check all your ignition and fuse pump fuses?
you indicated that you hot wired the starter and car still won't turn over? You need to take the starter off the car and test to see if the starter actuator engages and disengages too.
