that's not bad pricing, must be something different than i was thinking about. i had looked around on ebay and the w463 transfer cases started at around $1,500

that's not a bad deal for a 03 G55 with only 80k miles. i haven't seen any pricing like the one you're talking about on cargurus/cars. if you can get the car in the low 30s, i think that will be a pretty good deal.

do you know if there's any rust (frame/exhaust/around the windshield/door hinges)?

Drove a 2002 G500 with 105k on the clock today at a local car lot. The poor thing looks to have received no love recently. Very weathered interior. Still drove great!

Plenty of room for me and for my kids behind me... im hooked!

Best part of that truck was the android head unit it wore. Must have in my opinion!

Going saturday around 3pm to see the G55 in question. I’ll be crawling all over the truck to inspect and see what I come up with. Talked with my local specialist today amd he agrees that if it all checks out, I should snap it up. Up to the seller if he wants to wheel and deal.

Yes they can be. A lift is better but you can turn the wheels all the way to each side and crawl under. If you see a ton of goop and grim around the joints they need changed.

UPDATE!!! (Better late than never?)

The 2003 G55 that was local ended up being a complete rust bucket, soup sandwich.

Ended up buying a 2013 Mini Clubman JCW about a year and a half ago after almost buying a 2013 Lexus LX570.

Figured as a daily driver, the Mini was more "practical". Last winter was a little difficult with the handful of snow days we had though even with new all season tires. Should have bought the Lexus and I wouldnt have looked back but here I am.

Heading up north this weekend to have a look at a 2005 G55K. Have been in communications with the seller for a couple weeks now and everything looks relatively straight. Some surface rust underneath from a video he sent me but nothing a wire wheel and some undercoating wont cure.

Not crazy about the black exterior but it only has ~80K miles and its been well maintained from the looks of the maintenance records.

Wish me luck!

Morning, I looked at a G55 a few years back, had always loved the look of those and REALLY wanted to like it...... After a test drive I just couldn't do it.....like others have said it's a truck and I just didn't want another truck.... ended up with a '12 ML63... still a SUV but so much more comfortable as a daily driver... quiet, nice tight ride... still crappy gas mileage but hey its worth it to me for the performance.

From reading this post seems like your jonesing for a G but a least your shopping for the right one and not the first one

Indeed! I've been shopping across the board.

Almost picked up a 2014 Escalade ESV Premium (I dig the body colored grill LOL) but couldnt do it.

Test drove a CPO 2014 Cayenne S the other day and realized that after the CPO will be done (with over 100K miles by that point) the truck would be worth nothing, or considerably less than what I paid for it at least...

The G really fits my needs. I've put my Mini up for sale and am considering selling a project 996 couple i've been fiddling with. It'll be my only daily driver for at least a year. Should be fun. Hoping the northern truck works out as a 8 hour drive will certainly get me acquainted with the truck too

Built 2008 G55 & one big 80 Series LandCruiser !
find a clean southern truck if that one doesn't pan out..... having come from a built 200 / Lx570 the motor and solidity of these is truly impressive... the 55 motor is amazing as well. I wanted a 11' 55 but ended up finding a super low mileage 63 that I couldn't pass up.

good luck in the hunt !
