Hmmm...interesting car. Looks like you are shopping at a Car Market somewhere in the UAE (Ras al Khor maybe?).

It is an older model G, with Newer Brabus Bumpers and has newer G Wagon Head Lights.

The badges inside look like they where just stuck on there, not very professional looking. Everything that says "BRABUS" was probably just added on by the Previous Owner. Do you know if it is GCC Spec, or if it was shipped from Japan? I know a lot of cars at the Ras al Khor Car Market are Japanese imports, and they do a lot of fake "BRABUS" aftermarket stuff in Japan. I bought a few BMW/Mercedes' from that market when I lived in Dubai....

The interesting things to me is the V12 Badging, and the appearance of an actual V12 under the hood. I didn't think BRABUS had a V12 G, so I did some research:

https://www.secretentourage.com/life...v12-s-biturbo/

http://www.dieselstation.com/Brabus/...s04-i1487.html

The G you are looking at honestly does not look like a true "BRABUS G V12", however I would need to see more photos to give a better opinion.

The motor does look like it is a V12, which is super interesting to me. So I would think that someone just transplanted a M275 (V12) into the G?

I don't know, but I am very interested to know the full history of this G!

Thanks for the response NYC, yes my vin search came up with that the car was originally a g65 v12 delivered in holland in 2013. I like you thought it was complete aftermarket but after seeing your link about GV12 it seems to have many similarities such as engine seats and steering wheel. Could be a replica of that but it seems theee were many gv12 done at official dealers with kits from Brabus. The car is in the gcc yes

Weird that your VIN says it's a 2013 G65 from Holland. This truck is definitely not an AMG, or a 2013. There were massive interior changes that came with the 2013 facelift, which this car does not have.

Do you have any photos of the VIN plate on the Driver Side Door, and the Windshield?

There are a lot of shady cars at the UAE car markets, beware.

Hi NYC So I checked the VIN again (attached) and it seems to be 2012 g65 sorry. I am just trying to determine the Brabus authenticity. The drive definitely felt comfortable. Much more than a stock g65 (so it could have the Brabus suspension) indicating possibly a comprehensive job. It does say Brabus 'complete spec'.
The inconsistencies I found were the exhaust (amg tip) and the door sils said 'Brabus' and not 'gv12'

No, that vin is for a G65, Model Year 2013 (the first year of the G65). This is NOT a G65, 10000%.

It would be interesting to see what the other VIN plates say.

This G does NOT have the M279 (G65 V12)/Exclusive Designo interior/facelife interior/etc...

This is a chop shop truck, which there are many floating around the car markets in the UAE....

FYI, if you are seriously considering this G, or any other G/Mercedes, take the car to Silber Arrows for a pre-purchase inspection. They are an independent MB Service Shop, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Ask for Phil, tell him Justin from NYC gave you his info. He will take amazing care of you and your new car.

Thanks NYC! I had no idea 2013 was the first year for the g65 model. I will try to rule out the only possibility that maybe some early ones (2012 build dates) had the old interior. I will get all the vin numbers tomorrow

Nope, that isn't possible.

Honestly, steer clear of this G. Take it to Silberarrows, and let them tell you all about it.

Another thing to consider is the VIN decoder website you are using is giving you the wrong info.

i don’t have access to MB system outside of the USA, so maybe give that VIN to Silberarrows and see what they come up with.

if they say G65 VIN, definitely shady.

Yes just checked another vin site and it said g65. I'm surprised they messed up that minor detail, giveaway!

I think all of the vins should be checked to match, windshield, frame , etc...
Or why not contact Brabus directly, they should know.

All the vins match, but why does this car have the old interior?! Maybe the Brabus customer preferred it over the new one?

Because it is the older model. It's not only the seats, also the dash.

My guess is that it was a G500, the for some reason they put a non-AMG V12 in it, and upgraded the Exterior with BRABUS bits. And for good measure, they added multiple badges and a gear knob in the interior, lol.

Just checked the frame vin and it matches. Owner claims that this is an early model g65 with the old interior

Weird, that is so crazy. I have never heard of any "early models" with completely different specs. The engine itself is different that what is displayed on the VIN Report/in this G (M275 vs M279).

Call Silberarrows for a pre-purchase inspection. If you are getting very serious with purchasing, you need to take it to them (regardless if it is G65/BRABUS/etc)...

The last thing you want to do is buy a V12 anything without checking to see what needs fixed. 1,000AED is much better to spend than 10,000AED+++ in unknown repairs!

If the owner/dealer refuses to let you get it checked out, that is the biggest red flag in the world.

Good luck, keep us posted!

that downpipe looks cobbled together. That segment and the junk welds do not look factory.
