I'm pretty new to MB in general but have doing a lot of reading regarding the instrument cluster. I just got an 03 G55 and the instrument cluster is fading. I did some searching and found some replacement parts online, but not sure what is compatible with what. I searched the forums but couldn't really find much that applied specifically for 2003, so:

1. Does anyone have the part number for the OEM replacement of the instrument cluster for an 03 G55?
2. How many years of G-class use this same model and is it the same as the instrument cluster that is in W203 C-class? They look very similar
3. Is it worth it to upgrade the cluster to a newer generation of instrument cluster? Any benefits? I've seen certain models require some reprogramming in order for the odometer to show up

In case anyone needs to know, the instrument cluster LCD for a 2003 G55 is the same as a W203 c-class...

No I just searched for an early 2000's W203 C-class because they show up in a lot more searches and seem to be the same

My '05 had the same issue, so I purchased this repair service from germanaudiotech on eBay and it looks as good as new now.
