Weld marks on roof line

I just noticed these weld spots on the roof of my G wagon ? They are located right over the center part of the rear windows . ( Both on the driver and passenger sides) Does any other G wagon owners have this?

Not on mine. Looks like something came down on the roof and there was an attempt to repair the damage. Or the truck was backed under something that was too low for clearance.

weld marks?

Weird, no history of previous damage to the roof. On the passenger side there is also weld marks with no crease on the roof. Could it be from some cross member welds on the inside of the roof?

Def looks like outside impact damage, but that one picture isn't too clear.

I'll look at some other ones at work tomorrow but I highly doubt there's any external damage from welding or the assembly process that isn't corrected before paint at the factory.

One EVERY G we have had since 2002....500, 55, 550 and many 63s, ALL had marks; round "dots/bubbles" on the roof. 3 dealers told us it is weld marks!

You sure the garage door didn't get it somehow~!

UPDATE:! Sorry I jumped the gun before reading all the posts. Its seems welding is the concern issue! Top of my unit is fine and it is a 2018!

I have heard that other G wagons also have these weld marks. They seem to be located over the back door and appear to be from a roof brace located under the roof.
