2016 G63 alignment
I brought it to a well-known local shop which is specialized in racing. They redid the balancing which fixed the vibration on the steering wheel. They tried to do the alignment as well but it turned out the the rear axle was out of alignment. In order to fix this, they recommended that the trailing arms needed to be shimmed to create proper alignment. Does any of you guys experience the same problem on the G?
I have refused the repair and made an appointment with the dealership to try to fix this under warranty. Do you this that it should be covered under warranty as I think this is a defect?
Thanks.
i have the same issue with my LWB W463 300GE. However my car is RHDrive and it pulls left. The readings are similar on the alignment -0.10 on rear left and 0.15 on rear right.
my gut says I should shim the trailing arm to the rear right ?
Did you manage to get this fixed by shimming? Or another solution?
oI thanks ?

Yes, I brought it to another shop with the shim bought from a Mercedes dealership. They did the alignment with the shim and it seems to fix the issue. I had to tell the shop about it as they were not aware of this fix though.
can you remember what side they put it on.
i had a hunch that this was the only way to adjust the axle position and then I found your thread mentioning shims. Thank you for taking the trouble to list the problem and taking the time to come back to me. Regards Bob.
