ridculous and out of touch. my dealer is “only” trying to get $15k above list and no one seems to be biting since it has been at that dealer for two weeks already. feels like production is moving along quite well and wait times are dropping. Unless you’re severely brain damaged, there is no demand for $230k marked up g wagons.
these theiving dealerships need to give it up already.

Well...consider that such asking prices keep our purchased G-wagons' residuals at higher levels; generally-speaking

Houston market
Was told by a dealer that he sold 30k over.
Few other high end dealers got G63 and sold 15 to 30k over. I think this will not last long. Remember that same thing happened w Range Rover when it was first introduced. I personally think that we can still sell one year later at 10% over since all new orders are filled.

So annoyed right now. A sales person at Lokey in Clearwater FL supposedly put my order in a month ago, at which time he said 6 months wait. I contacted the sales manager today and he said my order was never even put in and they’re at 12-18 months. Another dealer is estimating 7-10 months but wants 10k over MSRP. Anyone know a Florida dealer asking MSRP with wait under a year?

Palm Beach told me 6 months on a G550 and 1 year on a G63 at sticker....that was about a month and a half ago.

Anyone know when the "hype" will die down? I'm in between ordering one (6-8 months lead time) or paying a super high premium for one. I've been to the dealer and they kept saying you can order one, but your price will not be guaranteed; meaning if the market is still hot when it arrives in Oct-Dec, I will have to pay the premium - any pointers?

G63 has been always in high demand
Even w previous body style, I couldn't get any discount on new model, used resale value was the best compared to any MB model. I bought a used 2015 crazy color edition one, 2k miles, sticker 159 k paying 140k, traded in 2 yrs later getting 114 k.
I knew the GM manager personally and he told me that all what he could do was few thousands $ discount on a new one in stock but not on a new order, again this was for the old style.

My inclination is that G63s are sold out for 2019 MY and 2020 MY orders are what are being currently filled. I would say that it may be well over another year before demand finally dies down. Heck, the magno paints are still not available for 2019 models in North America. I have a feeling that it will be MY2020 before they are more readily orderable.

UPDATE: Confirming it is the Dynamica headliner (All G63s have the same headliner we think)

I can't predict when the hype will die down but it will. I am opposed to paying a premium over sticker so I would suggest you wait it out. I'm doing that myself even though my dealer has told me I would get a discount because of the relationship I have with the dealer and the volume of cars I have done with them. I'm also in the process of thinning out the "herd" so am not in any rush to be adding another vehicle at this time. Let things percolate and see what happens. I can't imagine things getting worse than they are at the moment as is evidenced by the alleged premiums being asked for. Whether those premiums are actually paid is another question.
I contacted my local dealer in February this year regarding my interest in a G63. At the time they had zero visibility as to when the allocation would become available but said that I would be next. Fast forward to today and the dealer informs me I was able to get a July build. Looking forward to finalizing my spec.

It's hard to predict when the hype will subside, but it definitely will. I made a deal for my 2018 911 GT3 in March 2018 at over MSRP. At that time I was so thankful that I was at least able to get one so I was happy to pay over. Currently you can find 2018 and 2019 GT3s at MSRP or even below. You still see dealers listing them for above MSRP but they don't seem to be moving. I expect the same thing to happen with the G63.

@ msrp. It’s true the market could soften a little in the next few months but it’s probably not going to be a huge swing either way.

Just spoke with my dealer and found out that my production date of the second 10 days of May has moved up to the first 10 days of May. Been waiting since last August so it is good news to me.

Awesome!
Looks like you and I are in lockstep! I also placed an order last August and the build date is May 6th! I expect delivery around first week of July if not end of June...
