Warranty coverage question for Current and Previous owners of G63

Buy extended warranty coverage or not ? My 2016 only has 12k miles.
I would like an opinion and shared experience with those who currently owns or had previously owned AMG 63.

When I purchased the vehicle a few weeks ago, the dealership sold me 5 years extended warranty through FIDELITY and not MB CPO.
It costs me a little bit over $5K for the 5 years coverage and was told it was bumper to bumper coverage.
I still have a chance to cancel the coverage and get the money back. Just reading and hearing that 3rd party warranty companies are questionable when making claims.
So that is why I am asking for reliability records and histories of these G63 models from forum members.
Anyone with Fidelity warranty experience in particular?

Thanks

No more MB:(
Too new for any feedback in terms of reliability. I passed on the warranty, figured I can always purchase one if I keep that long and didn't want to finance the warranty and pay the interest on it. I will definitely purchase one if I keep this vehicle (which I plan as I'm so enjoying it!). I purchased a Continental policy on my 15' SL but have not had to use it yet. I too am curious to hear about 3rd party warranties.

G63 has been introduced since 2013 I think, so that is 6 years worth of data on how reliable this model is...
Hopefully more members will chime in on their ownership experience and issues that they may have encountered.

warranty

I have a 2014 g63...I would definitely recommend getting the warranty...I would also suggest going to a Mercedes Dealer for the warranty...you can do so while still under factory warranty...it is expensive ...mine was @ $6700. These cars are built very well, but they are known to have transmission problems and leaks which can affect ECU's...etc....I will sell mine with a little over 1 year of warranty left to the next owner...great peace of mind for me and the new owner..Buy the warranty --Cheers

Did not realized they had transmision issues. Was more concerned with the electrical components and sensors...

Many European cars have transmission issues and I am not saying g63 have problem transmissions. Many mercedes have transmission or as you said “electrical issues”. The g wagon is built very well....but they do break and when they do the bill is typically very big....Basically the dealers get these g wagons and (at least in SoCal) the repair bill can get expensive...I enjoy the peace of mind of dropping of my g63 and whatever the dealer wants to do is covered...buy the warranty from Mercedes and enjoy the next 3 years with peace of mind ...imo. Cheers
