900 miles this weekend, for the most part the truck felt perfect, smooth, powerful, comfortable. Three "knit picks" that others may have noticed as well (may be other knits too), a couple of which there may be a work-around but a couple I'll have to live with, maybe the MB folks are reading posts....

1) Front cup holder, make them both the large size! any cup will be fine with tensioners but Yeti's won't fit in the small one so its kind of worthless.
2) Cigarette lighter, wrong place if you use a radar detector, it makes one of the two cup holders useless because the plug is inside the cupholder bay and the cord blocks access. Duh.
3) Lane assist, there may be a fix on this one but having to turn it off every time I start the car is a pain, I can keep it on the road and don't need it.
4) Auto start/stop, Really! come on, way too hard on this engine Imho and I haven't figured out a way to disable it, maybe someone knows. I don't care about gas mileage.

So much I haven't figured out that maybe others have but this is my .50 on the first 1000 miles

As long as I can fit a Starbucks Vente Latte in each cup holder, it’s all good!

Isn't there a stop/start defeat button on the dash like all other MB products and pre MY 19 G's???

Yeah you have to turn it off every time you start the car. The button is located right next to the engine start button.

There are tools to defeat the auto-start/stop without affecting warranty...
Easy to do these days. Costs about $100-$500 depending on brand.

Here are some options:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-ca...-n9S:rk:1:pf:0
https://www.midcityengineering.com/p...s-benz-eco212/
Couldn't find a link for the Brabus module but it is called "BRABUS Start-Stop Memory"

While nobody has the G-Class listed (too new), it should work as the same tech as in other models.

Thanks! Is there a way to disable lane assist without having to do it every time I start the car?

That would be nice. My lane keeping assist only intervenes when a 18-wheeler is barreling towards me, with 130mph closing speed.

I am starting to think my G is trying to kill me...
