G-Class Crash Test (EU) - Five Stars

Nice to read (and check the video!) so wanted to share...

"The 2019 model achieved a perfect five stars in each of the four areas of assessment, which include adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, pedestrian protection and safety assist features..."

Wow. These are really worth watching. I like how the kids high five each other @ 32seconds! Odd how at 50seconds the rear seats with unoccupied passengers collapse upon collision. the pedestrian avoidance systems are impressive to watch starting @ 2;10

Surprising that the Honda CR-V obtained the same 5 star rating. In the pedestrian and obstacle avoidance portion of the video, I’d say even Elon Musk would be impressed. Very cool how the big G automatically reacted to these situations. The best part is that it was a G350d, as you can hear the beautiful notes of that wonderful oil burner!

VERY impressive. There was very little crash testing on the 18 and older G, correct? It seems to never have had a crash test rating on the window sticker. Same with all our Bentleys and Rolls Royces. Wonder why? Too low of volume? Too expensive to crash test?

Too bad Mercedes doesn't have enough to fulfill demand and dealers are attempting to sell everything over MSRP.

It can pass all the safety tests in the world but that doesn't change the fact that it's a revamped (ever so slightly) 1980s brick on wheels.

Not really. It’s completely new, ground up, including chassis with only the door handles, the spare-tire cover, the sun visors, the headlight-washer nozzles, and a bracket under the hood are shared with its predecessor
