2019 Mercedes G63 Platinum Magno Paint not available Again???

So my Mercedes SA calls me today after saying everything looks good for a June build...exact spect I want ...specifically Platinum Magno Paint ——and says....Mercedes just informed them that paint now has a delay until September??? Has anyone else experienced this? It seems like another sleazy dealer tactic to sell mine above MSRP.....I would love to know if anyone else has ordered 2019 g63 with plattinum Magno that is being built..not already built and being shipped.....but about to be built in the next 30-60 days

Cheers

Are you saying you think they’ll sell your ordered car and then order you another car, but blame the whole thing on paint supply issues as opposed to dealer greed?

Platinum Magno is listed as limited for June build. So some orders with that paint won't go filled. There is zero options for that paint for August, hence your dealer telling you Sept.
Relax, no one is lying to you.

Well..... there are definitely a few things "unsaid"... yes, order for 3rd decade June are open for changes - if you had placed a deposit (and I assume from what you have not said directly your understanding is MSRP) - then the dealer out in the change request to Magno - and the factory came back and confirmed another June Magno was not possible - then the salesman came back to you.

The next thing "unsaid" is Aug and Sept production orders have not been allocated yet ... so your Chicago dealer will not know sh*t until allocations are picked up.

I might suggest you try this - call Springfield IL Mercedes Monday - they have a open/changeable/"unsold" G63 scheduled for 3rd decade July ...and you can see if they can get their slot changed to Platinum Magno for that decade ...

Keep the beat !

Do you have a firm PO number from the dealer? My order had several constraints and I ended up swapping with another person (facilitated by dealer) who's po didn't have the restrictions for my order. If you don't have a PO then you are potentially not dealing with a real order. Keep us posted. And good luck. Getting delayed may not be the worst thing at this point given some of the gremlins.

The dealer here told me Im good for a Aug build but build had to be pushed to sept due to platinum mago paint not available. That's not an issue but i was then told I had to upgrade my 21" rims on the night package option to 22" as sept crosses into MY2020 build and they dont offer 21" in night package no more. They mentioned there would be a few changes for MY2020 but im still getting a 2019 model. And i have to pay a few grand to keep the night package with 22". I feel cheated.

Im just trying to understand why go through the hassle, the dealers in LA always have like 50 G Wagons on the floor? They can easily search the computer and find what you want.

Is it a pride thing? Is it swagger?

One more question (for today ;-)) I noticed you have the newer steering wheel. I asked around an was told this is absolutely impossible. But ofcourse you have proven the opposite. Is it fully functional including buttons and airbag? Dit you have to make any mods to it?
