Rain soaked G55
2009 G55 AMG WDC4632711X178882 Bought used. Fixed a bunch of minor problem and everything was looking good until....
I know. I'm a dumb A$$. Left the sunroof open thru some rain storms. When I first started it, all kinds of error msg's. were displayed. The drivers side was soaked. Left her dry (with help of fans) for days. The G starts and drives fine. At first, almost every error msg. I can think of came up. The issues that I am working on are the drivers seat doesn't work, the steering column doesn't move and the radio displays "device unavailable".
I am going to work on the drivers seat first because it is all the way toward the rear. I can't get to the battery. Plus, from reading, I think the steering column and seat are related.
I have a Icarsoft MBII. A common thread is it keeps indicating CAN bus communication problems. The tester can see, and verified that the seat switches on the door are operational. The mirror moves. Found NO bad fuses.
Any ideas were to start would be a great help. Thanks, Jack
As far as the "device unavailable" on the command unit, I looked at the fiber plug on the siruis radio in the left back of the G. There is no visible light coming out of the light pipes. Also, I think it's the Amp under the front of the Drivers seat, there is no visible light there. ??? Can someone point me to a pic of the fiber loop? ???

Today, the Icarsoft indicates that the drivers seat control unit is defective. Status current and stored. Now to find out what the part number is. ??? I am thinking now that the seat not moving has nothing to do with the rain. It could have been defective for a long time since I am the only person that drives the G. No reason to move the seat until I was looking for trouble. :-)
