Thinking of purchasing a new G63. Need feedback...

Well, to be honest the old G will always remain iconic. If I were to follow logic, I can definitely say that the new G’s drive much better in comparaison to the older generations. I’m not going to start debating on looks. (I’m un-biased) - I think both look good if spec’d with taste. On the flip side to answer your question about reliability, you can at least be comfortable ordering a 2020 since most issues will most probably be corrected. I have a 2019, the only two problems I’ve had and I’m at (2100 km) is that my seatbelt was a bit too long, and they had to replace it. Other than that, the brake pads for certain people like myself where making some noise, and Mercedes to my knowledge are making new pads to fix this issue. My conclusion is, you are safer with a 2020 than a 2019. My 2019 is a great car though none the less ! Hope this helps

If you have a brand new one I would enjoy it and order the 2020 later on, I know my local dealer stopped taking orders for the 19 g63 but there are a few 550's that are in process and can be modified. Maybe put in an order in a few months and expect to get it next year.

Look at this, you may need to hold off and build it your own way:

MBWorld Fanatic!
Take a look at the "new" 2020 Dealer Order Guide posted in another thread with the expanded Manufaktur exterior/interior choices .... and also understand "most" MB dealers have a 14-18 month customer pre-order backlog for G63's - meaning your order G63 order today puts you in line - and most likel your G63 will be be a 2021 delivered Nov/Dec 2020
