Darn it! First real problem with my 2018 G63

2018 G63, about 8000 miles. Bought new in June of 2018. Last week I started it up in the garage and my son started yelling that the garage was on fire :-O From the passenger side exhaust pipe a TON of white smoke was filling the garage. Terrible, toxic smell. Pulled my G out, turned it off and then re-started....no smoke and has not happened since.

Yesterday when I pulled my G out to pick up my son from the bus stop (last day of school I noticed these drops on the garage floor I took a pic and from where under the car the drip was coming from. Texted them to our MBZ dealer and they told me to come in. Turned the car in and drove away in a very nice, brand new! GLC.

Dealer called me today...Rear Main Seal is leaking. Parts will not arrive until late Friday or Monday They said car will not be ready until late Tues or Weds. Wow, it's that big of a job?!

Thanks and Happy Thursday!

I had oil wetness on the steering stabilizer shock and was replaced under warranty.
Also a few seals were seeping oil in that area and was replaced as well.
Keep an eye on the steering shaft / rubber boot too. It tends to look wet on that component area.

See my post LOL I have a little over 8000 miles. Bought my G brand new almost a year ago (end of June 2018). We actually bought two 2018 G63 the same week. The other G does is not having this issue. We have had at least 1 new G63 since it debuted (2013, 2014?) every model year and have never had a drip of any kind. Bummer!

Yeah, I missed the mileage part, its the ADD. That is a bummer indeed but hopefully just a fluke. Especially since you've owned others and never had issues like this before. I wonder what causes that? Poor install or simple part failure?

I asked the dealer, and he said could be several issues....seal failure, part defect, poor install or just bad luck. I am going to have to chalk it up to a fluke, since our other '18 63 is not experiencing this, nor has any other 63 had this in the past 5-6 years, and in almost 1 year of ownership, I've had no other issues besides a steering wheel alignment and transmission software update. G has been perfect!
