I did it myself so its pretty straight forward....for the rears, its basically a bolt on the top and one on the bottom... the fronts are a little bit more work where its easier to take the wheel well liners out.
And on the drivers side, you need to detach the steering column so you can access the bolt at the top... other than that its about as easy as it can be....

Here we go, the difference between the OEM rear panhard rod, and the reinforced panhard from GfG in Germany for trucks lifted 50mm. Thicker, heavier (substantially), and about 1/2 inch longer.

Will that upgrade rod work on a standard height G63 and will it provide improved driving characteristics for the rear as an alternative to a sway bar retrofit?

Thanks

Not this one, but you can get one that is OEM length for a non-lifted G Wagon. However, I don't think it replaces a sway bar as far as improving truck tilting/swaying tendencies, since the panhard is just a direct connection between axle and chassis to stop side-to-side axle shifting.

no rubbing on my truck w/ 305/55/20's - but am using a 40mm spring spacer plus custom rims that are 34mm further out ( replaces need for spacers)

Thinking about getting a set of these for my 2006 g55 as the ride quality is nigh on unbearable. Just wondering if these would be overkill as I do not intend to do any offroading, just looking for a more comfortable ride. Any input on these vs bilstein vs koni shocks? Are these worth the extra $$$?

The shock is responsible for the impact related reaction - so thewy truly transform the truck..... best of all they're adjustable so you can run them in different modes based on your need. I run firmer when doing primarily highway and softer around town and in full soft offroad...

the springs for the g55 and g63 I think need to remain to manage the HP and weight ratio..... IMHO.

it was the best mod to the truck so far - the wider stance and wider tires really helped too.... and not much $ really..... 5k all in.

I think the Koni shocks are not adjustable once you put them on your rig. You can only adjust them before the install. No clue about the Bilstein though. Fox 2.0 for the win, Kings would be nice, more expensive than Fox but I don’t want to cut the bracket on the front left in order to install them.

Coming from a few built landcruisers with Icon shocks I was a bit concerned that the Fox's might not be up to the task on a G - Icon doesn't have a fitment and the Kings while very well reviewed were on backorder at the time..... but I couldn't be more impressed with the Fox's in hindsight - the adjustments are tangiable and ride quality is so much better.

I can’t wait to install mine this coming wknd, I ordered mine from Jackwagon last month & it’s just on its way. I’m hearing that they might discontinue the Fox springs for the G63...not confirmed yet though.

Get the fox 2.0 performance series, you have the ability to adjust them. You’ll be happy with the Fox, way better than your OEM
