My 2019 order was pushed back to a 2020.
I am going through the specs with my dealer to finalize and several things have changed.
First, the 2019 5 spoke silver wheel from the night package -which was perfect - is no longer available.
Night packages now only come with black wheels...and I don’t like them! Although I will remove the bullbar, I like the night package because of the darker headlights and signals.
The AMG trail package has a black wheel i more prefer -but don’t love - but that’s another $3.5K. I presume the ride would be better with The smaller 20inch rim and thicker tires.
Secondly, the saddle brown leather which used to be free is now only available with an estimated $10K+ option.
I’m paying MSRP. My 2019 build came out to 160k with the $6500 olive metallic...I’m now probably above 175k.
The 2020 positives is the black roof option and leather grab handles.
Ask for a discount in light of the circumstance?
Get trail package or just buy the old wheels off eBay ?
Thoughts on black roof with olive ?
I feel your frustration! my 20' order is in but I lost the night package (because I did not want the black wheels) and had to upgrade to the Gmanfactur ( unknown price) interior to get the brown interior I wanted. In addition, I lose the black bull bar. Ugg.

Wheels are the easiest possible modification to make post sale, so just buy the ones you want and swap them out. Paradoxically, I'd PREFER the black wheels on the Iridium 550 I've got on order, but the 'AMG package' I'd have to buy to get them includes items I don't want (performance exhaust, 'sport' steering wheel w/o heat) So I'll just buy the wheels I want from alloywheelsdirect and put snow tires on the 19s that come w the car.

get the AMG trail package it will improve your ride experience both off road and on road. it will be more comfortable

If the comfort from trail package is simply a function of the smaller size wheels and meatier tires ....can also be gotten post sale....albeit probably for more than $3.5K

it is not a simply a function of smaller size wheels!!! it has to do with the modification they did with AMG ride control suspension with softer adjustable damping..... i ordered mine in UAE with 22 Wheels but with TP1 AMG Trail package. as you can see from the screenshot of Daimler it explains that they did some tuning to the damper etc. which will be comfortable on both off road and on road.
in our region you can keep the 22' wheels if you opt for this option but not sure about your region.
P.S demand from your dealer to give you MORE details of the options you might be interested in. i know they do not provide much information!!! however, they have access to all information and explanation from AMG since you are paying and waiting for this car!

I and probably everyone here knows more than the dealer- at least my sales rep. Lol.
I did see the suspension mentioned in the MB press release. I just hope it also applies to US vehicles. Anyway, added it, to be on the safe side...as comfort is very important to me for a daily - as is the G. So trying to balance the 2.

Id def swap leather handles for free saddle brown on the 19. Just like RR ATB, the only way to now get brown leather is to pay an additional 10, 15, $20K...who knows how much the bill will be?!
