Judging from the comments I have been getting in the 3 weeks since I bought my 2017, I think 95% may be underestimating it.

With the temporary plate on it, everyone is asking me if it is new, and I live in a very wealthy area where a lot of people could afford a new one if they wanted it.

Temp plate on the old one is definitely going to perplex people

I would have thought so, but if doesn’t seem to be the case. People seem to be assuming it is a brand new car.

I think we are all in a little G bubble. We all notice it immediately, but the vast majority of people don't seem to know the difference at all. Maybe after the new model becomes more common it will be more noticeable to people outside the bubble.

I’ll get a new one when the old one can’t do anymore of this.

Looking for an R129
Sandman3769 makes a valid observation regarding the bubble. In the real world, because the movies never depict the good guys driving up in G-wagons, the assumption amongst the hoi poli regarding anybody driving one (regardless of whether it's old or new) is we're all selfish, entitled, *****. The consequence of which is, I'm careful whilst driving to not give offense because of the frequency of road rage. Especially in consideration so many are armed and willing (if not eager) to draw down. My point? Remember what the mob did to the rich with the guillotine during the French Revolution because today, the nation is poised on a razor's edge. Political anger is bubbling beneath the seemingly calm surface. Meanwhile, Socialist leaning Democrats are busy stirring up class-resentment. So if and when the feces hit the rotating device, will anybody draw the distinction between folks driving an old vs. a new G-wagon? Nope! So y'all be careful out there, and remember . . . everybody drives a used car.
