Boat Load of New G63s
Just want to give a heads up before some desperate person pays $50k over sticker for a Christmas gift for themself or significant other. Cheers.

I think many of them are already sold. I picked up our preordered G63 today and it shows up online (same VIN) on all the sites (autotrader, CarGurus, etc)
I assume that is the case for most dealers, as they take in inventory they have a pipeline that posts them online.
I bet the inventory is going to drop quickly in the next few days as people take delivery since there was a backlog of a month of production that just got released at once.

In a weeks time you will see these cars are no longer listed on the dealer websites.

I believe the demand is actually very high, sales seem to be up 50% over the best year for the old body style. But after now driving one I can see why there is such high demand, there isn't a single car on the market that compares. For the G63, there isn't a single SUV that has the power, the sound, the luxury, the off-road capability and presence. They managed to actually keep or improve on the things that make it a G wagen but fix some of the annoying parts (and get rid of the the c-class interior.)
It doesn't compare at all to a GLS, GLE, X5, X7, Land Rover, etc. It is more like an Urus or something in that category. And if you think about it like that, it's an amazing deal (even with a mark up.)
Now, if we head into a recession I am certain there will be a drop in demand and you will be able to pick them up with a nice discount (but that goes for any car, it will be interesting to see how much those older Porsches drop in price.)
Even the old models didn't have discounts on them (unless it was a bad color combo or something). I assume Mercedes will just reduce production rather than have them sit on lots and give out discounts. This isn't a volume play and there is no reason for Mercedes to do that. Its a similar car as the E63s wagon in the US, you don't seem many for sale. Majority are special orders.
