Congrats. I have been waiting since April here in Dallas and will probably be a 2021. I was 83 on the list back in April. Every dealer in Dallas back then had more than 30 people.

Can you tell me your dealership and salesperson's name? I would do that deal in a heartbeat. I'm in FL but can get it shipped here. That's a great deal you got! The wait here is 12 months plus for a new G63 order

I don't think dealer can/willing to sell G wagon.out state.

still waiting on shipping information. Production completed Feb 7th. Reading through a few online forums and guys are saying they've waited a month after production before their truck made it to the shipping yard. Maybe that May date is true but im optimistic

Is it "Produced Not Ship" (i.e. still in Austria) or "Waiting for shipping vessel" (i.e. in Bremerhaven)?

How long does production take? My build date is March 1st.

I am getting impatient which is odd since I pretty much forgot all about it in the year + I have been on the list. I thought I would not take delivery when the time since it rarely even crossed my mind. Now that I have a confirmed date I want it now! Lol

You are about 6ish weeks away from it arriving after your build date.

I have an early April allocation for a G 63. My dealer said, "It usually takes about 3-4 months from production start to dealership arrival (give or take)."

BTW, I'd go crazy waiting a year plus for a car (ask me how I know). I paid $15K over MSRP for the April allocation. I'll take it out of my kids' inheritance :-j

That seems long...most here in the US have been getting them about 2 months after they were built.

Hi Bob. That sounds even better. My dealer told me that I have a "first week in April" allocation. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but it sounds better than an "end of May" allocation Do you know what the steps are in the process, and the approximate time for each step? I am guesstimating an August or September delivery? BTW, I decided to go with Night Black Magno.

Allocation means they are given the build slot but the two dates are not the same. I got my official allocation in January for a March build with delivery in May.

With demand being so high for this vehicle and im sure its a cash cow for Daimler, this plant has to be running at max capacity. Hopefully the quality doesn't suffer. Sales should start to taper off this year once the demand weakens. Not a lot of people even worldwide ready to just throw180k on a SUV i don't guess. My small town dealership has a stronger than time G550 on the lot that's been sitting there for a while at 165k though. Its still sitting there today as i passed by there a little while ago omw from picking up dinner.

A customer walking into a dealership tomorrow ready to custom order one will for sure not get theirs until Fall 2020 maybe

I just had a message through today re my UK G order. He said we are looking at dealearship delivery at the back end of May.. I asked if a build date had been provided and this is what I received in return...

Hi Becky,

The G-Class’s don’t get build dates unlike the rest of the models. We just get an ETA to site, which is 28th May.

Kind Regards “

:-/ - After you guys saying the May delivery vehicles were getting build dates etc I was confident I’d get an email this morning and I’m happy :-) I wished for it to be at the end of April in time for OH’s 50th but hey ho..

woohoo :-)

Strange, here is the US there is a build date associated with an allocation that is sold and a purchase order # generated.

I asked him if there was a build date knowing what I know from here.

I understand that this dealership has only ever ordered three of these vehicles so they aren’t exactly experts on the subject - however, I am pretty confident that if he did have a build date he’d give it.

I was really hoping I’d be in the February build slot Group but going on the date of 28th May arrival it doesn’t look like I am. So maybe they haven’t actually given me a build slot as yet?? You would imagine that I’d have a last week in March build , maybe as late as mid April for a UK End of May delivery.

who knows... I do hope it comes sooner !

Thats a bold face lie by the dealer, they very much do get build "weeks" or whatever they call it. The Gwagon my dealer screwed up my build on had a 3rd week of January build date.

it definitely seems unusual in my eyes when the rest of the world seem to get them!

whats your plans now Poison ? Will you end up with a G do you think or have you completely thrown the towel in with MB?

Sigh. They are putting in a new *correct* order for me today....with a hopeful delivery date of June. So that'll be 8-9 months for me to have gotten my 550.....had I known that going into this...I would have just ordered a G63. At least they are going to give me 3 years of paid maintenance :/

wow!!! It’s been a long road for you... this makes me sad.

At least you’re getting the maintenance and hopefully you’ll love the G and it will be worth the wait for you. Your car and my car may well be on the same boat looking at the dates :-)

I will have been waiting seven months by the time It arrives.

i do have to say that I’ve never dealt with such a bunch of unknowlegable unhelpful people as the staff in all the Mercedes dealerships. Nobody would even order one (I’ve visited above 30 dealerships!!). They all said that whatever G class arrived for them they would sell but wouldn’t commit to an Custom order due to...

BREXIT!

Bloody BREXIT!! ...We’ve been going through Brexit for about three years!!!! Wtf!

the people who did the order in the end are a Mercedes dealership at the other end of the country, who deal only with bulk company car orders. It’s a dealership I’ve never visited so We will see how it all pans out. I have a bad feeling something will be amiss with the build as happened with yours!!!

fingers crossed!

No, it all has to do with the logistics of having ships ready to accept them based on their destinations. Contrary to the last week the world economy is actually doing quite well, for now.
