Im super curious about this as well...it would really make difference in garages with that extra 1.2/3 inches off and honestly not even sure it would change the car visually...

hi! Not yet. Waiting for my car. Mine should be here
in April/May. As soon as production starts I’m going to buy them!

the 1.2” drop all the way around will look great and make it easier getting in and out for my wife and most people lol

haha. Yes I agree. My main concern is the look and will look great with the subtle drop. I'm getting a set of 23" wheels also. Are you doing any other mods like an exhaust/wheels or anything? Did you get a production number (PO#)?

Very interested in this too. How hard is the install and what effects on the G does it have (does the Sport / Sport + stiffening of suspension still work with modified springs?)

All works the same. The springs are separate and the shocks do the stiffening. Installation I assume will be the same as any vehicle with standard coil springs. I have my mechanic that will do all this for me. I lower all my cars, so I don't foresee any issues. Will keep everyone updated. The only 2 brands I know about are Lorinser and H&R. I am getting H&R.

Do you know if the lowering springs will interfere with clearance of slightly larger tires? I have 275/55R20 on my G, which are about 1/2 inch OD larger.

I sent an email to G Wagen Parts and they never replied.

I contacted H&R and was told they do not make lowering springs for 2021 G63. They only make it for G550.
Could you please let me know which springs you purchased.

Thanks

So H&R will tell you that because they haven't tested the springs on the G63. Even if you tell them it works they won't acknowledge this because they can't back it up without their testing. Mine and my good buddy have the 2020 G63. They do not trigger any warning lights and we both have 24" wheels also. the part number is 28668-1. I just double checked my original H&R box. I would be safe to bet the 2021 will fit just fine because no changes have been done to the suspension.

Thank you so much for the explanation. I contacted so many places and Mercedes Benz but wasn’t able to get a straight answer.

Thanks

So I have a 2021 G63 and just installed the lowering kit from H&R, part 28668-1. On my ride home, it was noticeably stiffer. And I could not feel a difference from the comfort, sport, sport + modes. It was like I just have one mode now. I am not sure if it will loosen up over time. H&R does state "not AMG Ride Control" and I wonder if this is because the stock springs are just a better "progressive spring coil". I am curious if you or your buddy felt a stiffer ride.

I really don't know because I lower all my cars before I take possession. So I couldn't answer the before and after. I don't know if it's supposed to stiffen the ride that much either. I know the gear shifting changes in the different modes and makes it more aggressive with my after market exhaust. I'll play around with it because I mainly drive in I mode, which is sport mode. Not sure if my comments helped?

I ordered the Lorinser lowering springs for G63 and waiting for its delivery. I’ll update you once it’s installed.

Please do. I was just looking at Lorinser, cause they do advertise it works with the ride control.

I meant to ask, do you get an "adaptive suspension malfunction" message on the dash? This message comes up every time I start and drive the truck now. And I believe because of this, the electronic dampeners are shutting off completely, hence why changing suspension modes from comport, sport, and sport + feel no different.

As an update, it turns out when we reinstalled the level arm sensors, the arm was flipped. I was able to reinstall the arm in the correct direction. No more warnings now and all modes work as normal.

sorry for the late reply on the promised update. So, some of my friends had the H&R and ended up changing it to Lorinser springs because of the stiffness and some message on cluster which may or may not have been related.

I personally went for the Lorinser and haven’t had any issues since installation. They promise 1-1.2” drop but to human eye looks lower. It solved all of the issues of ceiling clearances.

thank you
