designo Macchiato Beige

New member looking to buy or order a 2020 G550. I have always had black interiors on my cars and was considering changing things up with the designo Macchiato Beige interior. Any experience with this color and how it wears? It looks really classy. Thanks for the help.

I have Macchiato Beige in my E 400 cab. 25th anniversary edition. It soils easily and must be kept up more diligently than a darker color. My steering wheel is covered in it also. I usually wipe it down with a damp magic sponge and dry quickly with a soft lint free fiber towel. In spite of the upkeep I have ordered it in my soon to be delivered MY '20 G 550. My last G was black on black. I just prefer a lighter color interior. Good luck with your choice.

Thanks. I was surprised at how much I liked it.

the macchiato interior is fantastic in person. It is a very ‘cool’ beige with no peanut butter/yellow hues and only slightly warm. I really suggest ordering it with the teak interior wood as well. To keep the interior fresh will require more attentive care, but taking certain precautions can make it easier. One thing I would suggest is being careful of your ingress & degress. If you usually brush against your seat bolsters or place lots of your body weight on your seats, this will soil your seats in no time. I would also suggest rubber floor mats and the optional rubber trunk matt as all of the carpeting is macchiato as well. Previously I believe they where sold as a set, they are now sold separately. Definitely have your salesman throw them into the deal. 👌

Do you mean magic eraser? If so, I would strongly advise not using that anywhere in your interior unless it is extremely soiled. They are far more abrasive than most people realize, and easily can remove the soft nap on your car’s leather interior. For just everyday dirt & oils, an instant interior detailed spray applied to a microfiber and agitated with a horsehair brush will do the job safely and properly.

Teak wood? I am placing my order officially tomorrow for a G550 and we planned to get the Zen wood with Macchiato. I thought the carpet were Black though, as well as the headliner.

It's black if you go for the macchiato by itself (non exclusive plus interior). If you go for the quilted macchiato / espresso, it's not black

The configurator shows that, with the espresso / macchiato the all-season mats are actually brown vs black. Anyone know if that's actually the case>

Whoops, I meant Zen wood. 😄 As others have said, yes the carpeting is black if not opting for the upgraded Designo interior package. I have personally never seen the ‘regular’ macchiato, only the Designo with complementary carpeting & headliner.

Thanks for the responses. Is this an interior color that is not as popular and may affect resale?

white interiors generally resale for less than dark.
