Thoughts on the rust on this G63

Happy weekend everybody!

Is this normal for a 46k mile car? How much worse would it get in 5 years?

Pics show door cill screws with rust, tow hook and running boards

Its normal for a G-class. It is not normal for any car made within the past 20 years.

I have a long running thread on the topic. In it you will see dozens of photos of G550's and 63's with similar problems.

Be on the lookout for rust on the main body panels. Check the sunroof surround, roof in general, rain gutters, and areas around window seals. Especially under the front window bottom edge. If you see ANY issues with the quality of paint be concerned. If you see rust on any main part of the body its time to be very concerned. But those screws and those fringe parts are not of a concern to me.

Is it going to get a lot worse? I live in Toronto and I am planning to keep the truck for four to five years.

I wouldn't buy this car without the rust issue - it doesn't look like it's been very well taken care of. The rust just makes it completely unacceptable to me. Surely there are better examples available out there.

I think he owns the G already. Rust can be an issue on these trucks. Any sign of rust on the body is bad as it means there is more you can't see.
