Door pin

Anyone changed / upgraded there door pins ?
Maybe a aluminum one? Where to buy?
Are the stock one only twisted in ?
i like a more flushed door pin. The stock one looks a little easy to pull up for theft...

With the gas mileage you get no one is going to steal it for joy ride 😂.

kidding aside, I did it on my ML and it was easy. Just twist it counter clockwise to remove and install the new one.
have not done on the G and have no plans to do it since it doesn’t look too bad.
I replaced the pins on the ML because the oem ones really really looks cheap.

The new style ones are bigger diameter I just tried it with the genuine pins from 2016 onwards GLS and it was a pain, really tight to screw on and tight through the hole, will be trying a different pin type as ended up marking the GLS ones it took tools to turn them to screw on

That said the collars are removable and I may try again in with GLS pin collars installed but door cards off for that so eBay aftermarket knurled look pins for 1/4 of the cost of new may well be the route I try, just asking a few sellers if they’re already threaded to screw on with fingers

The Brabus pins I have are flush and finished off very well. I highly recommend them.
